"Marblehead Johnson" as written by Edward Daniel Chester, Adam Patrick Devlin, Mark James Morriss and Scott Edward Morriss....
Tonight I'm wound tighter than a watchspring
Tonight you owe my patience quite a debt
Tonight we're not gonna solve anything
I might say something that we both regret

v
And now the pressures on, the heat is rising
The time has come to stop apologising
'cos when the skies are clear
The threat of rain is always here with you

Tonight the geese are flying
And everything you say is a call to arms
Tonight there's something in the air
Don't come too close and you'll come to no harm

v
And now the pressure's on the heat is rising
The time has come to stop apologising
With all thats gone before
My motive's never felt so pure
And now my heart's beset
With 28 carot gold regrets
And when the skies go clear
The threat of rain is always here with you

General CommentBrilliant song, pretty sure that this one is about the legend that was Bill Hicks, can't be 100% sure about the lyrical content but the title is inspired from Hick's band name. The song describes Hicks in the first person and also from a spectators point of view. Anybody else think the same??? I know that the band are fans so maybe!

General CommentI'm not sure about the Bill Hicks reference. I think it's about arguing with your better half. First verse is knowing that you're too angry to solve it in the heat of the moment. Second verse is not caring and arguing anyway. Third verse is going too far and saying something you regret (which you knew you would in the first verse)

My InterpretationI think it's about unresolved attraction to someone you should know better than to get involved with.
The excitement of knowing you'll be spending some time with them and wanting *some* reward for your patience... Threat of rain probably means the threat of being surprised by their vengeful partner.

Much too stirring a song to be about an argument! :)

PS. it's 18 carat not 28 carat gold regrets.
And I can't see how the title relates to the lyrics.
