In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
Don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
Don't you know that I'll always be true?

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
Don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
Don't you know that I'll always be true?

Oh, won't you come with me
And take my hand?

Oh, won't you come with me
We'll walk this land

Please take my hand!

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, baby,
Don't you know that I love you?
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, honey,
Don't you know that I'll always be true?

Oh, won't you come with me
and take my hand?

Oh, won't you come with me
We'll walk this land

Please take my hand!

General CommentThis may be urban legend and rumor, but I heard it was an L.S.D distortion of "In the Garden of Eden".

One of the Iron Butterfly members was tripping and holding forth on some grand acid theory about Eden but as he kept repeating it it morphed into the mantra.

I respectfully disagree with Desert Doyle -
In Spanish it would be "en el jardin (or "en el huerto" ) de la vida"

I will never forget the first time I heard this [the Iron Butterfly original] sometime in 1983 on a college radio show. It went on and on...unrolling expanding mutating. I kept asking people what the song was and no one knew.
About a year later I bought the album.
