@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Woo
Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I'd like to meet
Pretty woman, I don't believe you, you must be true
No one can look as good as you
Mercy
Pretty woman, won't you pardon me?
Pretty woman, I couldn't help but see
Pretty woman, oh you look lovely as you can be
Are you lonely just like me?
Ah (rrr)
Pretty woman, stop awhile
Pretty woman, talk awhile
Pretty woman, give your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah, yeah, yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me
'Cause I need you, need you tonight
Ah
Pretty woman, don't walk on by
Pretty woman, don't make me cry
Pretty woman, don't walk away, okay
If that's the way it must be, okay
I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow night, but wait, what do I see?
She's walking back to me
Whoa, whoa, pretty woman
Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I'd like to meet
Pretty woman, I don't believe you, you must be true
No one can look as good as you
Mercy
Pretty woman, won't you pardon me?

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
R U serious?! "Intruder", the first 1' 47" ... What a fantastic intro! Ramps up perfectly to the electronified Orbison remake. Intruder fukin' rox
good song and good movie. richard gere looks good!
well, although Van Halen didnt originally play this, this is a good cover of..... i forget who sings this...
i love this song so much. can listen to it alllll day
Mr.Badguy0077 >> roy orbison did it originally, i'm pretty sure? i may be wrong, but who knows.. haha
anyways, great cover :)
I love this song so much. I think it's way better than Roy Orbison's version (then again, I'm a Van Halen fan).
The meaning is: a dude goes out and tries to get with some hot ladies, unfortunately he thinks he's being an ass and they're ditching him so he's apologizing but then hope rises and they walk back towards him. ROCK ON

Van Halen is a good grooup, they have some great songs, however, this cover is NOT one of them. Roy Orbison and this song are classics and should just not be covered
The song's not about a guy getting lots of pussy, it's about a guy after one particular lady who's playing hard to get - you dumb assed yanks know nothing - you'd call someone an alcoholic if you saw them drink one beer.
hahahahaaha "you'd call somone an alcoholic if you saw them drink one beer."hahaha that made me laugh.
i dont mind the guitar when it comes down the original beat but for the first 1 minute and 47 seconds its like what am i listening to?
also i do prefer Roy..he is badass
