"Your Mother Should Know" as written by John Winston Lennon and Paul James Mccartney....
Let's all get up and dance to a song
That was a hit before your Mother was born
Though she was born a long long time ago
Your Mother should know (your Mother should)
Your Mother should know.

Sing it again

Let's all get up and dance to a song
That was a hit before your Mother was born
Though she was born a long long time ago
Your Mother should know (your Mother should)
Your Mother should know.

Lift up your hearts and sing me a song
That was a hit before your Mother was born
Though she was born a long long time ago
Your Mother should know (your Mother should)
Your Mother should know.

Your Mother should know (your Mother should)
Your Mother should know.

Sing it again

Da da dada da da da dada dada dada da da
Da dada da da
Though she was born a long long time ago
Your Mother should know (your Mother should)
Your Mother should know.

Your Mother should know (your Mother should)
Your Mother should know.

Your Mother should know (your Mother should)
Your Mother should know.

Yeah.

General CommentIt's about how history repeats itself and we all "Get up and dance" to the same thing our parents and grandparents did. We do the same mistakes they did while ignoring their advice. "Your mother should know" because she's been there and she did the exact same thing at your age, and she ignored her mother's advice.

General CommentA very catchy little song. I like The Beatles' "vaudeville" type songs, ('Honey Pie' off The White Album, 'When I'm 64', this one) quite a bit.

General CommentI like this song because often when I'm with my friends I want to listen to older songs while they would prefer more modern music (which I enjoy as well) although I don't say "Let’s all get up and dance to a song that was a hit Before your Mother was born" most of the songs I want to listen to were a hit before their mothers were born.

General CommentProof that McCartney was as hip as Lennon sometimes. Paul McCartney rips. Go and listen to Back to the egg, followed by Ram.
