"Comfortable (Live at ECSU)" as written by John Mayer and Clay Cook....
I just remembered that time at the market
You snuck up behind me and jumped on my shopping cart
And rode down aisle 5
You looked behind you and smiled back at me
Crashed into a rack full of magazines
They asked us if we could leave

Can't remember what went wrong last September
Though I'm sure you'd remind me if you had to

Our love was comfortable and so broken in

I sleep with this new girl I'm still getting used to
My friends all approve, say she's gonna be good for me
They throw me high fives
She says the Bible is all that she reads
And prefers that I not use profanity

Your mouth was so dirty
Life of the party
And she swears that she's artsy
But you could distinguish Miles from Coltrain

Our love was comfortable and so broken in
She's perfect
So flawless
Or so they say
Say

She thinks I can't see the smile that she's faking
The poses for pictures that aren't being taken

I loved you
Gray sweat pants
No makeup
So perfect

Our love was comfortable and so broken in
She's perfect, so flawless
I'm not impressed

I want you back

General Commenti agree the way he kinda rants in the begining paints a painful picture of realizing how much you truly miss someone, makes you wonder what this girl did when she first heard the song.

General Commentwhen i listen to this song, it reminds me of someone i use to see, we would always go grocery shopping, it may sound dumb, but i don't think i can remember a time where i felt as happy as i did then.

General CommentI love this song full stop. And the first lines in this version especially. It's just an amazing song, and you can literally see the pictures he paints. Like you can visualise the picture he's supposedly looking at, you can imagine the scenes he paints...or maybe that's just the writer inside me talking, lol. I wrote a fanfic based on this version, but that's another story...

General Comment'Comfortable' is such a wonderful song, something which everyone can listen to and relate too. It whirs the feelings up inside of you. I feel like I am apart of the song, weird I know. But it's perfect.

Well said! I've never heard this version, but it
sounds very John. Why does he change the lyrics
on us?! I went to a concert and attempted to sing
along... I knew all of the proper lyrics and looked
like an idiot when I sang! I love him anyway! His
songs are so raw and real and poetic...(sigh)

    Favorite part :
    I loved you
    Gray sweatpants
    No makeup
    So perfect

They are not even whole sentences and they are
the most beautiful part of the song!
