I think of a lot of a things when I'm walking.
I think of a lot of a things walking home.
I say them aloud, to myself I am talking.
I talk to myself when we are alone.

Why-ee-i-ee-i is my bleeding heart beating?
Why-ee-i-ee-i am I feeling no pain?
Why-ee-i-ee-i do I cry when I say Good
Bye-ee-i-ee-i, When I'm calling your name?

I look to the left and the right when I'm crossing.
I look straight ahead when I'm crossing the road.
The baggage I carry, that load I am tossing.
I look behind at the row that I've hoed.

Chorus. Chorus.

General Comment"Why is my bleeding heart beating?"

God, all I can think of is Ibsen and how over the top some of the lines in his plays are. For example, in "Hedda Gabler," the title character says, as she throws herself backwards onto a sofa, "Why must everything that I touch become ugly?" Gets me every time.

That's not to say that i don't like the song; it just reminds me of Scandinavian melodrama.

General CommentThis song is wonderfully evil. It makes me want to form a pact with the Devil

General CommentSounds like a drunk song. Thick voice, glass breaking noises and all... Like the sad story of a tramp with a heavy caddy full of his(her) whole life...hoeing a row of regrets.

General CommentThis song gives me the impressions of the narrator having fallen into an exitential haze- no necessarily drunk, but that she's not interacted with anyone for so long in her daily life that she spends most of her time thinking and re-thinking things that are long gone and done. Like when you can't get over someone and you're so used it you veiw the situation as an outsider 'why does anyone like anyone anyway?' type thing.
I can't put how I feel about this song into words very well, but there it is.

General CommentI love this song because I can related to it so much. It it kind of a haze but have you really walked anywhere with a broken heart? You can't help but this of that person and you walk and you walk and you walk. It helps relieve only some of the pain but it still helps.
