"Blue Prelude" as written by and Gordon Jenkins Joe Bishop....
Let me sigh, let me cry when I'm blue,
Let me go away from this lonely town,
Won't be long till my sun will be blue,
Cause I know I'm on my last go round.
All the love I could steal, beg or borrow,
Wouldn't heal all the pain in my soul.

What is love? Only a prelude to sorrow,
With a heartbreak ahead for your goal,
Here I go, now you know why I'm leaving.
Got the blues. What can I lose? Goodbye!

What is love? Only a prelude to sorrow,
With a heartbreak ahead for your goal,
Here I go, now you know why I'm leaving.
I got the blues. What can I lose? Goodbye

General Commentsurprised there's nothing here about this, or on any recording of this song. it's one of the great anti-love paeans! It is what I feel right now.. it is what everyone who has poured all of themselves into a relantionship and yet were still discarded. the blues stay no matter what. the "goodbye" at the end is debateable (sp?) but this song is everything I have been thinking about love and romance for quite a while. any thoughts?
