"Nothing From Nothing" as written by and Samuel J. Coomes....
You can be so heartless
I can be heartless too
We can wound each other
Isn't that what people do ?

How can we betray when there's nothing to betray
We can throw it all away
If there's nothing there anyway
Nothing from nothing leaves nothing

General CommentQuasi is keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist Sam Coomes and ex-wife/sometimes singer/ incredible drummer Janet Weiss, who also drums for Sleater-Kinney.

I always wonder if all these mean songs he writes are about her, as she just pounds away her frustration in furious response. Actually, that's part of their charm. One of my favorite bands!

Song MeaningI have been a huge Quasi fan for forever and a day and I made this account specifically to show the correlation between these lyrics and a very powerful quote I've read recently. I wonder if this is something that influenced Sam in his writing or if it's just an interesting coincidence? Either way, all-time favorite band, hands down, and this song is perfection.

"Until that time, her betrayals had filled her with excitement and joy, because they opened up new paths of betrayal. But what if the paths came to an end? One could betray one's parents, husband, country, love, but when parents, husband, country, and love were gone - what else was left to betray?"
