We never talked about it
But I hear the blame was mine
And I'd call you up to say I'm sorry
But I wouldn't wanna waste your time

'Cause I love you, but I can't take any more
There's a look I can't describe in your eyes
If we could try, like we tried before
Would you keep on tellin' me those lies? (Tellin' me lies)

Do you remember?
(Do you remember?)
Ooh, do you remember?
(Do you remember?)

There seemed no way to make up
'Cause it seemed your mind was set
Ooh, and the way you looked, it told me
It's a look I know I'll never forget

You could've come over to my side
You could've let me know
You could've tried to see the distance between us
But it seemed too far for you to go (so far to go)

Do you remember?
(Do you remember?)
Ooh, do you remember?
(Do you remember?)

Through all of my life
In spite of all the pain
You know, people are funny sometimes
They just can't wait to get hurt again

Tell me, do you remember?
(Do you remember?)

There are things we won't recall
And feelings we'll never find
It's taken so long to see it
'Cause we never seemed to have the time

There was always something more important to do
More important to say
But, "I love you" wasn't one of those things
And now it's too late (now it's too late) (now it's too late)

Do you remember? (Do you remember? Now it's over)
(Do you remember? Ooh, it's over)
Ooh, do you remember? (Do you remember? Now it's over)
(Do you remember? Ooh, it's over) ooh, yeah
Tell me, do you remember? (Do you remember? Now it's over)
Ooh, do you remember? (Do you remember? Ooh, it's over)
Tell me now, tell me now (Do you remember? Now it's over)
Tell me now, tell me now (Do you remember? Ooh, it's over)
Do you remember? (Do you remember? Now it's over)
(Do you remember? Ooh, it's over)

ahh good old Phil. He is a lover and a musician, the worst combo in the world. He is always falling in and out of love and all the while with his heart on his sleeve, thank God or we wouldn't have great music like this to relate to.

A rocky relationship from the beginning, good times and bad times, both parties are to blame in the break up and like all of us, want to blame the other for not doing enough of the requests on the line when the entire time, it isn't about the requests, it's about not being able to move on because of the attraction still there or other items at stake.

    Thank you Phil Collins.

I am not sure how this song reminds people of good memories. The entire song is talking about the things that went wrong... the lies, the misplaced blame, the hurt.

Phil is basically saying, "You can blame me. But I remember there was plenty of wrong to go around. You lied, you never worked at it. But sure, blame me."

I really think this song pretty much explains itself. No need to dissect it. It is a song about a man who meets a woman, that in time he falls in love with, but the woman is always leaving him alone. She is all caught up on the material things of Life. No matter what he does for her..it is never enough. So.... He hangs on..and on..until he can't hang on no more. He tried and tried (3 years..to the day) and she is still. Set in her ways. He can never get her to see that she is never there for him. It is my opinion, that SOMETIMES in Life... We give, and give and give of oneself so much until there i s nothing more to give. You get tired of getting hurt..but you Love that person so much that you go back, and try, and try, and try...(12 times, within a 3 year period) and she won't change her ways...so you live her on morning... No need to say "Goodbye" you've said it enough.. So you leave. Knowing that you still Love her, you just can't take it no more. It hurts to know..to remember... How much. You caved in... to try and please her. But, it never was enough. And, now...it's to late. So...Do you remember... Thanks..Sir Phil Collins

hey there Boonechic 21! Thats a good call you should always stay friends or else the relationship was a waste. I just broke up my girlfriend of 6 years a couple of months ago and now we are basically best friends. I could never waste something like that!!!!

I had a bad bad bad breakup with a girl a year or two ago. This song reminded me of her time and time again, and it's always good to remember the good stuff. And trying to stay friends is good also, although you're pretty lucky to stay friends. That's cool, props to you both.

Well this song doesn't remind me of any past girlfriend, but it's a beautiful, heartfelt song of remorse.

This is track 3 off the very good "...But Seriously" album. Lyrically, the songs are frank and heartfelt, with the central theme of most of the songs being regret and sorrow. Most of the songs are well written. I urge thee to listen to the album some time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
