This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Dying to live
Living to die
Ain't no hellos here
Nothing but goodbye
It's like singing a song that cannot be sung
It's like having to end child,
What's yet to love begun
[Chorus]
Hey, hey, hey now
Where I am at times I just can't tell
Hey, hey, hey, now
I'm lost somewhere between heaven and hell
All that you know and all that you knew
In the end child,
Tell me what's it all mean to you?
Don't forget just who and where you are
You can spread your wings son
But don't you spread yourself too far
Hey, hey, hey now
Where I am at times I just can't tell
Hey, hey, hey, now
I'm lost somewhere between heaven and hell
Living to die
Ain't no hellos here
Nothing but goodbye
It's like singing a song that cannot be sung
It's like having to end child,
What's yet to love begun
[Chorus]
Hey, hey, hey now
Where I am at times I just can't tell
Hey, hey, hey, now
I'm lost somewhere between heaven and hell
All that you know and all that you knew
In the end child,
Tell me what's it all mean to you?
Don't forget just who and where you are
You can spread your wings son
But don't you spread yourself too far
Hey, hey, hey now
Where I am at times I just can't tell
Hey, hey, hey, now
I'm lost somewhere between heaven and hell

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

You know ... as I was typing this out, I attempted to make some sense of the lyrics. Yes, they're poetically striking ... but without his guitar solo ... shit, without his guitar playing, period, this song would be just another poor white boy attempting to sing the blues. It's strikes you in a completely different way to listen to it rather than read it -- independently, the lyrics are nothing ... but pair them with the music, and it's heart-achingly beautiful.
Lol, you're crazy. This song is poetry at its finest. Ponder Stairway to Heaven, why don't you? Gonna tell me that ain't genius, even though it makes no sense? Hah. This song is genius. Love the solo, as well.
I agree with Sandman-X. Although the guitar playing IS great, as usual for any song in which Zakk Wylde is playing the guitar.
I wish i knew what this song ment i can figure out most songs but this one just stumps me any one know??? im leaning more toward its about being stuck in war but im not sure. Lyrics are great, guitar is great so is the harmonica lol and zakk is the man
I'd say it's just a song about life and its confusion and uncertainty. Dying to live/living to die, singing a song that can't be sung, having to end what hasn't yet begun.... all ironic scenarios. Life isn't straight forward and sometimes you're just stuck "somewhere between heaven and hell".
Greatness.
Lost somewere Between heaven and hell? Earth is between there hes lost on earth. thought i would say that very obvious fact! luvely song tho zakk wylde is a genious!
why does Zakk have so few comments on this website. Hes such an amazing guitarist and composer.. isnt he that famous?
WOOOOOO, this song was our theme for our school formal(prom for you americans) it took some work, but we managed to convince "the man" it suited our year. twas truely wicked cool.
I think the first verse is saying that things in life are complicated and potentially futile (live/die, song/can’t be sung, begin/end). He also throws in there that sometimes life sucks (no hellos, only goodbyes).
In the chorus I think he’s saying that since life is confusing and complicated we just have to accept it because we’re stuck between heaven and hell (i.e. on earth).
In the second verse I think he’s saying since we’re stuck on earth and since life can be complicated, confusing, and futile we shouldn’t take it too seriously (what’s it all mean to you, don’t spread your wings too far).
Awesome lyrics plus some awesome guitar playing. Zakk really outdid himself on this one!
