If you could see inside my heart
Then you 'd understand
I'd never mean to hurt you
Baby I'm not that kind of man

I might not say I'm sorry
Yeah, I might talk tough sometimes
And I might forget the little things
Or keep you hanging on the line

In a world that don't know Romeo and Juliet
Boy meets girl and promises we can't forget
We are cast from Eden's gate with no regrets
Into the fire we cry

I'd die for you
I'd cry for you
I'd do anything
I'd lie for you
You know it's true
Baby I'd die for you
I'd die for you
I'd cry for you
If it came right down to me and you
You know it's true, baby I'd die for you

I might not be a savior
And I'll never be a king
I might not send you roses
Or buy you diamond rings

But if I could see inside you
Maybe I'd know just who we are
'Cause our love is like a hunger
Without it we would starve

In a world that don't know Romeo and Juliet
Boy meets girl and promises we can't forget
We are cast from Eden's gate with no regrets
Into the fire we cry

I'd die for you
I'd cry for you
I'd do anything
I'd lie for you
You know it's true
Baby I'd die for you
I'd die for you
I'd cry for you
If it came right down to me and you
You know it's true, baby I'd die for you

I'd die for you
I'd cry for you
I'd do anything
I'd lie for you
You know it's true
Baby I'd die for you
I'd die for you
I'd cry for you
If it came right down to me and you
You know it's true, baby I'd die for you

Oh oh oh
Baby it's only for you
It's only for you
Oh oh oh
Baby it's only for you
It's only for you

It's about the bigger things in a relationship. Yeah the small things are important but really it's the big things that show how much you love someone. Would you die for the one you love?

what's that suppossed to mean? if u do not know, then why are u even saying that for no reason? anyway.....i think this is a really great song. I think it might be about a guy who acts like he doesn't care in the relationship, but in reality he loves her so much and he would do anything for her, even if he doesn't show it or act like it

This song was one of the first songs i played for my boyfriend on the guitar (don't ask how i did it, it's fuckin' hard to explain) but this showed how much i loved him and that i will never stop loving him.

This song is about the bigger things in the relationship like commitment and trust and honesty because there's more to a relationship than just being together.

i just stummbled upon this song again, i havent heard it since i was a kid, but now i know what it means, it is my life with my boyfriend, we had alot of issues the first 3 years,no trust, insecurity, all that good stuff but it wasnt til we broke up and he got in trouble and tho i didnt have to,i lied to alot of ppl so he wouldn't go to jail.we finally realized that we wld do anything for each other,he lied to keep me out of something in the past and i did the same for him.It brought us back together, stronger than ever, because we both knew how eachother really felt!hopefully it doesnt end up with the dying part, but when you truly love someone ( as tough as you try to be ) you find you do whatever u have to for that other person!and that is what the songs about!p.s. i still dont like po po's !

I absolutely love this song! It reminds me so much of the guy I love more than anything in the world, and I know I always will. He is simply the greatest, funniest, most charming guy I've ever met. I know I'd do anything for him, I'd die for him, I'd lie for him, I'd cry for him. He means the world to me, but at the moment I don't think he feels the same way. But I know we will work it out, because we are perfect for each other. We are a perfect match, so I know we will work it out and have a great life together. He just needs to understand how much he means to me, and I know I mean a lot more to him than he thinks. I'd die for you, I'd cry for you, I'd do anything, I'd lie for you. You are my everything, please understand that. I'd do anything for you.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
