"She Takes Her Clothes Off" as written by Kelly Jones, Stuart Cable and Richard Mark Jones....
She's got another fantasy
She lives in flat number twenty three
Picked first prize for carnival queen
And now she takes her clothes off
Collects the covers off her magazines
She longs to be another teenage dream
The problem is she's turning forty three
She still takes her clothes off
She got the nick name porta bubble Joan
They found her dead dead as nails at home
And she said I'm gonna be another Marilyn
Bleach my hair and get real thin
And everybody's gonna want to dance with me
She loved to have her little fantasies
She longed to be the wife of jimmy dean
But Jimmy's head sits in Jimmy's knees
She loves to take her clothes off
Police are looking around at twenty three
They found her hanging from her swollen feet
They saw her dance last in Woolworth street
She loved to take her clothes off
She got the nick name porta bubble Joan
They found her dead dead as nails at home
And she said I'm gonna be another Marilyn
Bleach my hair and get real thin
And everybody's gonna want to dance with me
Everybody wants to be the carnival queen
Everybody wants to be the carnival king or queen
We all read the books
She takes her clothes off
One by one off again

General CommentThis song makes me think of my mom so much. She's a 40 year old prostitute, who just doesn't want to get old. She has 5 kids and not a lot of money, and sometimes I worry about her ending up dead just like the girl in the song. The first time I heard this song, I was separated from my mom for about 6 months, because I moved in with my dad (I realized that was a mistake and moved back), and I just sat down and cried for my mama for hours. So this one really hits home, and I love it to pieces. The Stereophonics are one of those extremely talented bands that are really rare these days.

General CommentThis song is about a girl who turned into a prostitute, but never stopped. It ruined her life but she continued to do it. In the end of the song she commits suicide and it just makes me want to cry because my friend is like that and she doesn't know the depth of what she's doing is hurting her.

General CommentMy fave stereophonics song and one their best.I think the song is about girls or people in general who have dreams and fantasies that they never let go off even when they grow up.They don't realize that these fantasies can never come true and when they do,they can't face this reality.Very sad but brilliant.
