"Torn" as written by and Judd Cochrane Kristy Thirsk....
Slow motion of my heart
A drum for heaven's choir
I'm closer to the swelter
The shovel brings

[Chorus]

The pound wants to escape with my life
Oh release come soon
I've opened the gate - to where they suffocate light
The pound wants to escape with my life
Oh release come soon
I've opened the gate now

It's colder than a funeral rain
Now I'm frozen in more carved shame
The bullets through my shelter
Hit the drum & my heart is the drum

[Chorus]

Choose, choose now, pound wants to escape with my life
Oh please come soon I've opened up the gate
The pound the pound the pound, my heart's a drum

General CommentI just recently found out that Rose Chronicles vocalist & lyric writer Kristy Thirsk has asthma. I'm wondering if this song may be refering to it. Perhaps she's suffering an asthma attack which is causing her heart to pound but she used her inhaller & she's waiting for the release.
