And if they get me and the sun goes down into the ground
And if they get me, take this spike to my heart and
And if they get me and the sun goes down
And if they get me, take this spike and
You put the spike in my heart!

And if the sun comes up
Will it tear the skin right off our bones?
And then, as razor sharp white teeth
Rip out our necks, I saw you there

Someone get me to the doctor
Someone get me to a church
Where they can pump this venom
Gaping hole

And you must keep your soul
Like a secret in your throat
And if they come and get me
What if you put the spike in my heart?

And if they get me and the sun goes down
And if they get me, take this spike and

Can you take this spike?
Will it fill our hearts with thoughts of endless night time sky?
Can you take this spike?
Will it wash away this jet black feeling?

And now the nightclub sets the stage for this
They come in pairs
She said, "We'll shoot back holy water
Like cheap whiskey, they're always there"

Someone get me to the doctor
And someone call the nurse
And someone buy me roses
And someone burned the church

We're hanging out with corpses
And driving in this hearse
And someone save my soul, tonight
Please save my soul

Can you take this spike?
Will it fill our hearts with thoughts of endless night time sky?
Can you take this spike?
Will it wash away this jet black, now?

And as these days watch over time
And as these days watch over time
And as these days watch over us, tonight

And as these days watch over time
And as these days watch over time
And as these days watch over us, tonight

I'll never let them, I'll never let them
I'll never let them hurt you, not tonight
I'll never let them, I can't forget them
I'll never let them hurt you, I promise

Struck down, before our prime
Before you got off the floor

Can you stake my heart?
Can you stake my heart?
And these thoughts of endless night
Bring us back into the light
And this venom from my heart
And these thoughts of endless night
Bring us back into the light
Can you stake my heart?

Can you stake me before the sun goes down?

And as always, innocent like roller coasters
Fatality is like ghosts in snow

i think this song can also be interpreted a different way... lets put the vampires as a synonym for the society."If they get me and the sun goes down into the ground And if they get me take this spike to my heart" he never wants to be just as ignorant and heartless like the present society. "We're hanging out with corpses, we're driving in this hearse" most people are dead and have no feelings, its just all about money "Someone call the doctor, someone get me to a church Where they can pump this venom gaping hole" he searches for a place where he cannot be influenced by this dead society, which he is everyday "We'll shoot back holy water like cheap whiskey they're always there" he and the people with him will fight against this loss of feelings, but they will always be there in our life

"I'll never let them, I'll never let them I'll never let them hurt you now tonight I'll never let them, I can't forget them I'll never let them hurt you, I promise"

he will never let the girl he loves (or someone else) be as dead as the society...

dunno...just a thought that came up my mind. could be completely wrong :) peace

~you laugh at me coz i'm different, i laugh at you coz you're all the same~

alright, here's my remastered intepretation of "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" ;) :

vampires=synonym for the society (in reference to anton lavey's satanic bible). He describes a "pychic vampire as follows (as much as i remember...long time ago, that i read it): A psychic vampire is a person who wears a mask and pretends to be somehow, that he is not. He is only nice to you, when he wants something and takes advantage of you. He has no feelings and is as cold as a vampire and he soaks you. You can't trust them and they have to die (says a.lavey)

And if they get me and the sun goes down into the ground [If they get him=he becomes one of them, the sun=his heart will disappear] And if they get me take this spike to my heart and he rather wants to be dead than becoming one of them] And if they get me and the sun goes down [s.a.] And if they get me take this spike and You put the spike in my heart [s.a.]

And if the sun comes up will it tear the skin right off our bones [if the sun=the heart comes up, it will tear the skin off our bodies=the masks we waer everyday will disappear and only our inner-selves will remain ] And then as razor sharp white teeth rip out our necks I saw you there [the vampires infect us with their virus=no feelings, dead...] Someone call the doctor, someone get me to a church [he searches for a place or someone to rescue him, church=place of god=only the feelings, the innerselves count, god sees through our masks; the church cannot be entered by the vampires] Where they can pump this venom gaping hole [heal him from the virus of the society]
And you must keep your soul like a secret in your throat [you can't reveal you inner feelings, your inner-selve in our present society our else you're week or a loser] And if they come and get me You put the spike in my heart [s.a.]

And if they get me and the sun goes down And if they get me take this spike and -Chorus- Can you take this spike? [s.a.] Will it fill our hearts with thoughts of endless Night time sky [not sure] Can you take this spike? Will it wash away this jet black feeling? [they spike=death as only possibility to get away from this OR this jet black feeling he has, coz no one understands him or coz the society's too dead, only money counts]

And now the nightclub set the stage for this they come in pairs she said [the fake world of nightclubs, bars, etc...] We'll shoot back holy water like cheap whiskey they're always there [they/he will fight against this, they won't surrender] Someone get me to the doctor, and someone call the nurse [s.a.] And someone buy me roses, and someone burned the church [he searches for someone who is with him; the place to escape is gone] We're hanging out with corpses, we're driving in this hearse [corpses=the dead society which surrounds him every day, hearse=maybe life] Someone save my soul tonight, please save my soul [pretty obvious ;)] -Chorus-

And as these days watch over time, and as these days watch over time [hm...not sure] And as these days watch over us tonight I'll never let them, I'll never let them I'll never let them hurt you now tonight [he won't let them hurt his love/his friend] I'll never let them, I can't forget them I'll never let them hurt you, I promise [s.a.] Struck down, before our prime Before, you got off the floor [also not sure, i'll think about that] Can you stake my heart? Can you stake my heart? Can you stake me before the sun goes down? [s.a.]

someone understands what he's whispering at the end?? something with `ghosts in the snow´. I don't know....

tell me what you think about it....

oh damn, ghosts in the snow. snow=white, ghosts=white (or invisible), means you can't see them. Means you can't see who's a vampire and who's not on the first sight. so watch out.... ;)

to me, this song makes me think that this song is about him trying to quit the lifestyle (sex, drugs and drinking)associated with nightlife. the druggies and partiers that bring you down with them are the vampires, the temptation--if he falls, will she just kill him so he won't have to keep living like this forever. the hangovers, everything associated with this negative but engaging, addictive, alluring lifestyle.

    My Interpretation

My Interpretation is basically the narrator, the vampire, willing to sacrifice their own life to save that of the one they love. 'I'll never let them hurt you, I promise'

I think that somebody was thinking about vampires and wrote a song. I dont think it needs to be analyzed all too much. It's an excellent song but I mean, usually the fans come up with some incredibly morbid, deep meaning for the song and the band will say they got the idea from eating count chocula. but very good analyses nonetheless :D

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
