This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
"...Garage and water from the sprinklers
It also left a man's decapitated body lying on the floor next to his own severed head,
A head which at this time has no name"
"I know his name"
Here I am I'm the master of your destiny
I am the one the only one I am the god of kingdom come
Gimme the prize just gimme the prize
Give me your kings let me squeeze then in my hands
Your puny princes
Your so called leaders of your land
I'll eat them whole before I'm done
The battle's fought and the game is won
I am the one the only one
I am the god of kingdom come
Gimme the prize just gimme the prize
"Now you die"
"I have something to say,
It's better to burn out than to fade away...
There can be only one"
Move over I said move over
Hey hey hey clear the way
There's no escape from my authority - Didn't I tell you
I am the one the only one I am the god of kingdom come
Gimme the prize just gimme the prize
I am the one the only one
I am the god of kingdom come
Gimme the prize
"There can be only one."
It also left a man's decapitated body lying on the floor next to his own severed head,
A head which at this time has no name"
"I know his name"
Here I am I'm the master of your destiny
I am the one the only one I am the god of kingdom come
Gimme the prize just gimme the prize

I'll eat them whole before I'm done
The battle's fought and the game is won
I am the one the only one
I am the god of kingdom come

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
fucking yay! this song rules! this and princes of the universe and amazing tracks, especially the guitar solos. ooh, i just can't get enough of it! anyways, that's what i think...
this is obviously an original song for a movie.
The Kurgan kicks ass
especially when he sez that one thing from Neil Young
its better to burn out than to fade away!
The guitar solo resembles a pipebag, doesn't it?
I mean, beang this song from a movie about a scottish legendary fighter it seems pretty reasonable the connection.
I haven't seen highlander yet, although i would very much like to.
ANd let me just say this song is amazing (but i think it might have been better if Roger sang it)
Roger singin this wud have been interestin yes, but i think we have to leave the stronger tracks for freddie tho, heaviest queen song ever. It is almost exactly the same as princes of the universe tho, which was written by freddie and gimme the prize was by brian, so if some copying was done......... lol
yea this does sound like bagpipe, kinda eery in my opinion but this is great. who does the growly bit? i wud love 2 perform this, it would rok at a metal concert. xxxxxx
Ah! Kurgan's theme! I love this song and i LOVE the kurgan, especially when he's "in disguise". All the songs on this movie (except New York, which was a cover, and i think maybe one other song that was never released in an album) were written for the movie Highlander. It's an awesome movie and anyone who hasn't seen it definitely should. But don't watch the sequel, its crap. The book's good too.
I've never seen "the Kurgan" or "Highlander" (possibly coz I'm from Australia and a little out of touch), but I LOVE this song! Does anyone know who does the voice that says "I am the only one!"?
Im from oz too and the original Highlander is a great classic 80s flick with the best bad guy the 80s ever produced, The Kurgan. The actor Clancy Brown (tv series Sleepy Hollow) plays the Kurgan. His famous line "Its better to burn out than to fade away" and "I know his name". Also the voice of Paralax for Green Lantern reboot.
