You just stood there screaming
Fearing no one would listen to you
They say the empty can rattles the most
The sound of your own voice must soothe you
Hearing only what you want to hear
And knowing only what you've heard
You you're smothered in tragedy
And you're off to save the world

Misery
You insist that the weight of the world
Should be on your shoulders
Misery
There's much more to life than what you see
My friend of misery

You still stood there screaming
No one caring about these words you tell
My friend before your voice is gone
One man's fun is another's hell
These times are said to try men's souls
But something's wrong with all you see
You you'll take it on all yourself
Remember, misery loves company

Misery
You insist that the weight of the world
Should be on your shoulders
Misery
There's much more to life than what you see
My friend of misery

You just stood there screaming
My friend of misery

General CommentAn outsider view of someone wandering in self-pity and having a very pessimistic view of the rest of the world.

General CommentI can't believe no one has commented on this song. This is a wonderful song. I relate to it soo much. And it's meaning is fairly obvious...to me anyway.

My InterpretationI think they talking about Batman. Noticed they do not take themselves too seriously so I think it a good guess.

General CommentEither that or it's about someone who just likes to be miserable and not feel good because they're so used to it, hence, "My FRIEND of Misery."

General Commentyour wrong king nothing, its about someone who thinks they are really 'alive' when in reality they know nothing of what being alive is. 'theres more to life than what you see'. and the part where he says 'you insist that the weight of the world should be on your shoulders' is talkin about someone who (they may not know it) but they hold on to everyone elses suffering because they think it helps.

General CommentI think it might be about someone who is really really annoying and yet thinks everyone loves him. He also constantly complains about having a bad life and stuff without even caring that people have much worse situations than him. I'm not sure how it would fit in but just a side note i think the line; "The empty can rattles the most." means the stupidest people have very strong opinions and voice them whereas intelligent people tend to keep quiet.
