I, I should've been listening
To every word you said
Oh, what have I been missing
Wishing, wishing that you were dead

I didn't mean to be so disturbing
So far from home
Oh, what have I been learning
By being all alone

Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing
(Is gonna) Just tears you apart

Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing
(Is gonna) Just tears you apart

When, when we were younger
Sleep while I'm awake
I was trying to keep the door locked
I realize that's a mistake

Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing
Is gonna tear you apart

Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing
Is gonna tear you apart

Every little thing that you do
Seems so much better than I could do
Oh, I should've been listening
To every word you said

Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing
Is gonna tear you apart

Every little thing
Every little thing
Every little thing
Is gonna tear you apart (it's gonna)

Every little thing (it's gonna)
Every little thing (it's gonna)
Every little thing (it's gonna)
Is gonna tear you apart

Every little thing (it's gonna)
Every little thing (it's gonna)
Every little thing (it's gonna)
Is gonna tear you apart

It's gonna
It's gonna
It's gonna tear you apart

It's gonna
It's gonna
It's gonna tear you apart

    My Interpretation

I read this as something someone who has become a parent is saying to their parent. What teenager at some point doesn't wish his parents dead(not literally of course)? That and the line about being disturbing, and then the one about "better than I could do".

I think the most telling line is that about sleeping while I'm awake. Have you ever pretended to be asleep when your parents came home late, but you were really awake, but didn't want to talk to them or were just trying to be funny.

Every little thing tears you apart has got to be about all the ways a parent worries about their child.

Obviously, Tweedy continues the tale from Via Chicago. The repetitive chorus states a lot about the song.

See Via Chicago for entire meaning.

He (Jeff Tweedy) has a sort of rocky relationship with someone he not yet loves but soon will love. It is as if they are competing and he is blocking them out but they aren't getting going to stop trying.

favorite wilco song ever. summerteeth is also my favorite wilco album, and possibly my favorite album of all-time.

imo, it represents the typical feelings of a love hate relationship or of someones infatuation with another gone bad resulting in angst.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
