"(Was I) In Your Dreams" as written by and Jeffrey Scott Tweedy....
Was I in your dreams
I'd like to know
Did I touch your hand and did it feel like snow?
Try to understand while I've got you on the phone

Did I hurt you like I know I can?
Tell me why you'd ever want to leave your loving man
Try to understand, please try to understand

Was I in your dreams
Was I in your dreams

This dreamer died when his dreams died too
But I don't really mind if I dream about you.
I can't say what any of that means

Oh was I in your dreams, late last night?
Did you hold your pillow, did you squeeze me tight?
I just want to make everything alright

Was I in your dreams
Was I in your dreams

Was I?

General CommentI love this song because it is really about a guy wondering if she is thinking about him the way he is thinking about her...dreaming! My x sent me this album and it freaked me out because I was literally still dreaming about him! I especially like the way he says....was I? at the end.

General CommentI think its about a girl who used to really love some guy and he never knew but he always felt the same and than when he does realize she feels the same way she's already moved on and he's asking if she ever dreamed of him or being with him.Lol maybe i'm being to deep but just a thought.

General CommentThe lyrics "This dreamer died when his dreamed died too." really puts a confusing spin on the song, it vaguely suggests the songwriter's dreaming about his deceased loved one, which is a paradox if you combine it with the lyric "Try to understand while I've got you on the phone."; a clear indication she's still alive. Maybe when he talks about his dreamed that died, he means the love she once felt for him and their life together rather than the person herself.

General CommentWhen he lost her, a relationship with her was his dream, he just died inside. I don't think it's to be taken literally that she died. My $0.02.
