"Forget The Flowers" as written by and Jeffrey Scott Tweedy....
You're trying my patience, try pink carnations
Red roses and yellow daffodils
Don't forget the flowers, someday, I know you will

Displayers of affection and all good intentions,
Why don't you just send me the bill
Don't forget the flowers, someday, I know you will

Lately you've been taking me
Way too seriously, oh
I can't ever explain why
I don't feel your pain, oh

I left you behind, I know it's been a long time
But I'm not over you
Don't forget the flowers, someday, I hope I do

You're tryin' my patience, try pink carnations
Red roses and yellow daffodils
Don't forget the flowers, someday
I know I will

Don't forget the flowers, someday
I know I will

General CommentI think he wants to forget all the things he did for her, but he wants her to still remember. He is hurting right now and wants her to feel the same way.

General CommentThis song is about a relationship like I had once....we were pretty much a happy couple but things didnt work out...anyway, afterwards she forgot about most of the good things we had together. Suddenly every fight we had was magnified and every happy moment was reduced. And flowers were literally forgotten (she swore I had only given them to her a few times when I had actually done it dozens of time). The whole song is about that kind of post-breakup forgetfullness.

General Commenti think its kind of a happy song about a break up. i know that seems dumb cuz tweedy is all about the depressing stuff, but, it kind of reverses at the end saying "someday i know i will" so its like, hey what we had was awsome and lets never forget how cool it was, but we will both eventually move on. maybe i just see it that way cuz im going to college and a break up is definitly on the way and i wanna be optimistic

General CommentFor some reason, I can really see this as a Joaquin Phoenix/Reese Witherspoon as Johnny Cash/June Carter duet...

General CommentLike it. I think it's about a failing relationship, or maybe even a break-up, where one is trying to patch things up, but his/her heart isn't really into it...? Not entirely sure.

General CommentJeff's just saying "fuck the post-breakup conventions- just get on with it" despite his admission that he's still not over her, which makes him want to fuck the post break-up conventions even more.
