ok NEXT the reason it sounds kinda like beastie boys is because, while they, too, were a couple of white boys rapping, they were also IN the song...the part that goes "We rock the over when we're stone cold bakin'" is beastie boys. so thats why. OK they are talking about rock and rapping because they are influenced by both....thats what alot of ppl like about sum....they combine two completely different forms of music rather well if u ask me. sure some of their songs arent that deep...but cmon who the hell is deep all the friggin time? certainly not me. this has got to be their absolute worse song...steve has even said himself that it's crap...so yeah don't like this one if u like ne of theirs.
