The song is not talking about a girl, although logical. It's more aobut his life in the band. 4/4 time is the timing he's writing his songs in, the buildings are diffrent now than when he left because so much changes to you when your on tour, you come back a new and changed person, but m issing the way things used to be and how you were before. The long trips in a buss or van leave you to remember things like your old birthdays, He feels like things have changed without him, The dress rehersal talks about tension in the band, where people don't say the things they want until it's already to late. they don't speak up when they can.
The strangers who's faces I know could stand for record company's and promotors, fans, or just people he sees around the show that he knows of, but he doesen't know. Or at the same time, could be talking about his band mates at some point, he knows them, but they've changed as many do on tour. and no matter where their going, they al ways end up home, here. And also about how whenever he's home, he ends up in the same places doing the same things he did before, that's why they never lead him anywhere but here.
That's my 2cents, although I think the 9/11 idea is clever and the uncle/father/grandfather idea is.
That's why I love the weakerthans, there are so many ways you can take their lyrics, and no matter what they raelly mean, they can always mean something special to you. It's not a band where the song is what the song is to the singer, it's a band where the song is what it is to you. Simply beautiful. |

This song reminds me of how I used to be, Didn't think about all the rules I broke, pushing drugs with friends and going to diffrent cities and states to pick them up, got arrested, depression, how can you face your close friends and family and such when you know you've fucked up in such a major way, when you think your so tough and all the sudden things get turned around and you realise your nothing, you have to swallow your pride and hope for understanding and forgivness. |

Dude, Yellowcard are in no way posers. They are one of the most influential and original power-pop/rock bands out there. name another band with an electric violin that has deep lyrics and plays this type of music. They are also really good at their instruments, and they covered this song for a cd called 'punk gone pop'. I think the cover is tons better than the original.

This song is totally amazing. I think it's about a friend that cares about someone so much, but their really depressed and don't see themselvs as anything special even though their friend knows their so important and special, or have affected their life in a huge way.

In the song I think the person is trying to hide with a substance abuse, in this case alchohol. Eh, i dunno. it was self explanitory just by reading the lyrics. but hey, i'm an idiot so who cares. |

they came to him, told him he had 3 days to make a choice, the band or the alchohol, he chose the band and told them the next day, but he had already been replaced by aquabats drummer travis barker. |

This song is so great. For the people who 'can't understand this song, here it goes:

ok the songs about a relationship they never thought would end, a baby was born because of a careless mistake and they had one little disagreement, he broke up with her and she took a weeks worth of stress relievers/anti depressants and she died.
He feels very guilty and cries alot. They never talked of lacking relationships, so therefore the relationship got worse because they didnt talk about their problems.
The guy is trying to not take the blame by saying she was the one that fell in love and he's not responsible even though he feels guilty
