Destiny's Child – Emotion Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard covered before. I loved the Bee gee's version-- But I think I love this one even more becaues it's coming from female voices-- which is easier to relate to being a female and all. Also, the vocals are so beautiful!!! I love the lyrics from the first verse through the end. |
Bryan Adams – Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman? Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This song is so romantic. I think I want this song to be played at my wedding. I get the chills when he says: "and when you can see your unborn children in her eyes, you know you really love a woman." That just makes my heart melt. Now if I could just get someone to sing this song for me..... ;) |
Christina Aguilera – Can't Hold Us Down (feat. Lil' Kim) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This song is like a modern day version of 'I will survive.' I love the fact that it points out how guys get praised for being players, and how girls are just thought of as sluts. And I love what lil kim says. Especially: "Here's something I just can't understand, If a guy have 3 girls than he's the man, he can even give her some head and sex her raw, if a girl do the same than she's a whore." It's so true-- It's a girls anthem. |
Mýa – My Love Is Like Wo (Feat. Missy Elliot) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Yeah... I totally agree. As girls and getting d*cked over a lot by the opposite sex- it is nice to have a song that can make you feel sexy and good about yourself. Every time I hear this song-- I am in a good mood b/c it's fun to sing along to. Sometimes it reminds me of this guy I used to be with, because I listened to this song a lot when we were together. But now I can just sit back and listen to it and think about how he's missing out!!!! |
Aaliyah – Miss You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I love this song so much-- even after all the times I've heard it-- I never get sick of it. My friend and I already loved this song so much already. And then we heard it when we were in a really beautiful place far away from home. We both started crying. Now she moved away b/c she joined the airforce. And I still cry once in a while when I hear it. She is my best friend-- and this song takes me right back to when we hung out. |
Aaliyah – I Care 4 U Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I first heard this song when my friend and I were taking a trip to charleston, SC. Being from WI-- it was a long drive down. I remember crying out of joy a lot on the trip, b/c we were so happy to be away from everything for a while. This song came on the radio and I immediately loved it. I always think of being on the trip with her when I hear it. Now she lives on the other side of the country-- so it takes me back to when we got to chill all the time. |
Incubus – Warning Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i realized i didn't add my opinion on the song. i think this song is about a girl, who is so tied up in worrying about the end of the world, that she doesn't enjoy her life. every day she screams at 10:24, and finally there is an explosion at 10:24 at the end. this girl was so concerned with end that she was never happy, she was always concerned with the end. that is my interpretation. |
Incubus – Warning Lyrics | 22 years ago |
and for those of you who say that incubus sucks, now - you are in the dark. every band has to evolve, and their sound is evolving beautifully. i don't think they changed their song because of the paychecks, as some of you have said. i think that they are exploring what the can do musically. the old incubus sound is wonderful, but so is the new. it's all completely amazing. and i wish more people could understand that. |
Incubus – Warning Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i really like this song, and i think people are missing out if they don't check out other incubus songs, on this album and previous albums. i wonder who picks their singles, and how? because every incubus song is good. the fact that some people only know incubus from the 3 or 4 songs on the album is strange. i saw them in concert on november 3rd 2001, and i got a chance to meet them, too. it was the highlight of my year. every incubus fan should get to see them in concert. they're even better live, and put on a good show! |
Weezer – Island In The Sun Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i agree with vixenchick on the olsen twins crap. reguardless, it is a good song. and although some 'weezer fans' tend to think the new music is crap, i am going to disagree. sure, it sounds different, but it's a part of the evolution of a band. they still have their old songs, but they needed a different sound. otherwise everything would sound the same. i like this song because it is simple, but done well. the melody is upbeat and fun to listen to, but there is more to the song. i really enjoy the vocals on this song, and i especially like to listen to it when i am driving. |
The Beatles – Because Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i think this song is beautiful and calming. the whole cd abbey road is amazing. when you listen to all of the songs in order with the way they go together at once it is a great experience. i love to download music, but i'm glad i purchased that cd long before the downloading option. i would recommend buying the actual cd to anyone who even liked one song on the album. |
The Beatles – Across the Universe Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this is a beautiful song, and i actually think the cover done by fiona apple wasn't half bad. i normally don't like covers, but she used interesting background music. it is also cool that she is a female singing. but of coarse it could never compare to the original. i just like the simple phrase: 'nothing's gonna change my world' |
Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i don't think the beatles suck, i think oasis was definately influenced by the beatles. and if you listen to any music these days, the beatles and other bands of their time built the foundation for every other kind of music these days - the good and even the bad. so if you are going to come on here and dis bands (ironHaloSucks) you are pretty lame, and should be spending your time elsewhere. what is the point in spending all your time posting negitive messages? go bother someone else. |
A Perfect Circle – Sleeping Beauty Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love this song, even though i am a girl. i think the song could go both ways. i've had to deal with a guy like this just recently. now i like to get drunk, but that's all he did, and ended up kissing other girls - flirting with them. Before that i thought things might be able to change, but i was wrong. even though he was hot, there was so much rotton inside of him. now i wish i had never known him. i really like a perfect circle, and sometimes other bands have a hard time forming another band out of an old band. but they have succeeded, and i am a fan. |
Aaliyah – More Than A Woman Lyrics | 22 years ago |
well, i'd have to disagree with you, Jemma. i don't normally listen to a lot of R&B, but aaliyah made me want to listen to it. her sound was different, and she was different because she had a great voice. she was influenced by various types of music, and i think this was her best song. now if britney spears died, and people decided to worship her, that would be different, and that would be lame. but aaliyah deserves recognition. she seemed down to earth and unchanged by her success. |
Craig David – Walking Away Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i don't think i would have appreciated this song as much, if i didn't just graduate. this was my personal graduation song, or one of them, anyway. it's strange because this type of song wouldn't usually appeal to me, but it did. for some reason i feel corny but sentimental when i hear it. |
Blind Melon – No Rain Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i really like this song, and have since i first heard it, when i was younger. now that i am a little bit older, i think my appreciation for the song is great. the lyrics definately go deeper than the happy melody of the song - and i think it is a good combination. the lyrics are quite sad, but classic and genius. |
Jewel – Angel Standing By Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i like this song a lot. i like how she starts out the song playing in harmonics, and the range in which she's using her voice. i really like the way it sounds much like a lullaby. |
Incubus – Mexico Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i really love this song, it has to be one of my favorite incubus songs to sing along to. i love belting this song out in my car and in my house, anywhere i hear it, i don't care who is there. the lyrics are just so blunt and brandon's vocal quality is so amazing, this song really shows him off, as well as mike on the guitar. i would love to learn this song on guitar so i could both sing and play along. i would thourougly enjoy this song more than any other song i've learned to play just to sing along to it. thank you to incubus for making music. and thank you to everyone who loves incubus, for being people who understand and adore the music as much as i do. |
Incubus – Version Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love this song, and i think it is a great point made, but put in a musical form which rocks my world. and that tongues stuff at the end -- i am not sure who it is, i always just assume it's people from the band and some guy. but whoever it is, its funny. it cracks me up every time. the song itself is so much above a lot of other rock bands. incubus has some damn good riffs going on all of their music, and i really love this whole feel. It makes me feel really good to listen to this song... modify your version so we can carry on.... i love the way brandon speaks it. |
Incubus – Just A Phase Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this has to be one of my favorite songs on morning view, for various reasons. the lyrics are so well put in such a twisted way, that would be hard for someone to transcribe, but incubus has done it once again. "call it women's intuition, but i think i'm on to something here temporaryism has been the black plague and the jesus of our age... " -- is my favorite line of the whole song, (besides the beautifully long "phase" passages that run through the song). he is so sensitive in many ways, and it is so attractive for a male to be that sensitive. his outlook on the world is original, and ideal for everyone. whether you are a dog, woman or man - how can you not be attracted to this force, that is known as brandon. he just gives so much respect to women, and i love being respected. "even though you're singing and thinking how well you've got it made" - that line sticks out as well. whenever i sing along to that part, i picture others singing along to that particular part, thinking they've got it made, and not understanding the song at all. (even though that may not have ever happened). i know that is not the meaning of the song, but that line is like a tribute, to other people who are singing other songs, thinking they are so great. britney spears is the first person who comes to mind - and i am sorry if anyone likes her, i am not here to offend, i am just stating my personal opinion. i love this song, and i love the vocal, and instrument mesh. it is a mellow song, that turns into a burst of emotion towards the end - and i think it is a damn good song. |
Incubus – I Miss You Lyrics | 22 years ago |
sometimes it takes a lot out of a person to say, "i miss you," but this is perhaps one of the most romantic ways i have ever heard anyone say. the way in which brandon sings i "i miss you," i holds out the you, so long, is breathtaking, probably for him, too. he's got an enchanting voice, and to see him sing that song live was truly a gift. and the way in which emotion just petrudes out of his voice is so expressive, sometimes, i feel like crying. - (but not in a bad way). there is so much to incubus, whether they like to think so or not. so much more than what people probably think when they hear drive on the radio. i am not saying drive is a bad song, but on the contrary, it is a damn good song, and if people would listen to more songs, they could be just as enlightened as i have become, listening to incubus. i love old and new incubus, i love incubus when i am in the shower, driving, drunk, high, sober... no matter what i am singing along! i realize i have strayed away from just giving my opion on "i miss you," and for that i am sorry. catch you on the flip side. |
Dashboard Confessional – The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most Lyrics | 22 years ago |
contrary to some people's beliefs i think everyone can relate to this song, or take something from it. i know that i can personally relate to the lyrics, and chris put it so well. it's almost like he is talking to me, ( or anyone feeling that way ) in the song. i love a song that speaks to me. because if a song really touches you that way, it is more than just a song, it is emotional. and believe it or not, not everyone can be in touch with their emotions... ( stating the obvious, i know ). i think this song for me, truly hits right on the damn spankin dot. and right on, johnson ;) |
Dashboard Confessional – Remember to Breathe Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i really love chris's style of music, and his lyrics. i don't remember what the very first song i heard of his was, but i remember thinking, "wow, the lyrics don't compare to so many people out there making music, these days. i agree with nametakenxox, on how i don't see him conforming to the radio. i watched his unplugged and i just couldn't get enough, i was sad to watch it end, maybe because i wished i were actually there, singing with him, and the audience. i love the way he just stands there with his guitar, and at first is a little shy about opening his eyes to the audience, and just like i would when with a guitar in my hands,(or anyone i know for that matter who plays guitar), he warms up to his listeners as he goes along. and that is so real, and people love to be able to relate to a singer/songwriter. i think he adores his fanbase, too. his presence, though, is just so damn adorable. he is the type of guy i am often attracted to, just by the way he puts so much emotion into his music, and i am a sucker for musicians. this song in particular really did something for me, and i was baffled to hear it. and my god, the way he speaks of women, is unparallel to most guys you meet, or at least the ones i know. he is wonderful with words, and the poetic way in which he can make a simple phrase sound so beautiful - melody and all. he seems like the type of guy every single girl would want to know, and i would love a personal serenade. to know that he has had all these different emotions, in every one of his songs, and that he is basically sharing his inner most feelings with so many people is remarkable. i see only wonderful things happening for him in the future. he doesn't seem like a sellout, at all. and just the line "she always wears blue" is ... well i think it is romantic. |
Björk – The Modern Things Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i agree, and it is only comon knowledge, that once produced, technology will not go away. a lot of people are afraid of it, but i think every life form evolves in similar ways, as we have for some purpose unknown to us. but it was unavoidable to become so technilogical... |
Björk – Army of Me Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love "self sufficience please" and "your rescue squad is too exhausted" i think we all know someone who we can relate this song to ... and for that, thank you bjork. i dedicate this song to an old friend of mine, who would truly gain from this song, if she could understand it, and then actually her newfound knowledge to her life. i tried to help her over and over again, but she wouldn't help herself. |
Björk – Isobel Lyrics | 22 years ago |
that paints a pretty picture for me, riko. i thought the meaning was similar. this song is painfully beautiful, and if i ever have a child and it is a girl, i'll name my child isobel - it just seems right. i wish that were my name... |
Björk – Hunter Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love this song, every lyric makes more and more sense as the song goes on. i especially love to drive to this song, by myself, or with someone with the same appreciation - it makes me happy. "now i'm leaving it all behind..." |
Björk – I Miss You Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love listening to bjork, i love this song, and it brings back wonderful memories. i think the song is pretty easy to disect, meaning-wise. I like the simplicity of the lyrics, and that it is hard to get a point across simply, and understandable at times. i like to write, and sometimes i struggle with simplifying my thoughts. so, good job, bjork. |
311 – Down Lyrics | 22 years ago |
hmm.. well i think this song is great, and i like to hear it in the car. i'm not going to get myself in the middle of any arguments, because i think it's pretty pointless. a lot of people get sick of sing arguments. it's nice to put your own, opinion in, and if you don't like some else's then, just don't like it and be done. i said i wasn't going to get myself in the middle of it, but F*** it! - i guess i did. i like 311, the end. |
Phish – Billy Breathes Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love songs that sound somewhat like lullabies, not all the time, but i love this song. it is nice to just put it on, and lay back and relax, and think... |
Dave Matthews Band – The Best of What's Around Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this song can unavoidably put me in the best of moods, no matter what mood i am in. however, i love to listen to this song at emotionally high and low points in my life, in particular. i think the lyrics are up-beat without being corny, and it it hard to avoid corny for so many other bands. i love the interesting way in which the music is all pulled together. i must admit, i wasn't always and appreciater of dave, but when i listened to more than whatever it was that was his first hit on the radio (i can't even remember now, i was a bit younger) i liked it, i heard something, beyond what i originally thought of the band. and although, i can't say they're my favortite band of all time, i really could never pick just one favorite band.... |
311 – Amber Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i remember first hearing this song, and i loved it then, and i still love it. and i think it is basically a love song, and i agree with a lot of the other girls on here, that if any guy sang this song to me i would melt. but i think this song is so simply delightful. it isn't anything that crazy. it is mellow and beautiful, and it warps my mind to wonderful memories and places, and any song that does those sort of things to me, is truly a song i love to appreciate. |
Incubus – Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
yeah, i think this song is about smoking weed, and i think the music can just make us all float away. but, i love this song for various reasons. i love the way incubus can put so many different meanings behind their lyrics. and i love the way brandon's voice just floats above the music. |
Incubus – Deep Inside Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this song is timeless, and makes me feel high just listening to it. but even if i'm not, it doesn't change the fact that this song kicks ass. i love incubus, old and new. you gotta see them live. |
Incubus – Privilege Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this idea to this song is so well put, and no one could put it better than incubus. when i hear this song, and i'm feeling upity about anything, i can even begin to feel that way anymore. i wish i could tell so many people to listen to this song, the unappreciative ones, but i don't think they would understand it. and this song is even better live... |
Incubus – Stellar Lyrics | 22 years ago |
this song is everything a love song should be, and aren't we all in love with brandon boyd? i mean, it's easy for me to say that because i am a girl, but come on guys, he is so insightful, and he's just a sexual force for all of us to want to follow. anyway, i love this song, i love the lyrics to the song as in any other incubus song. i love the mellow incubus, and the not mellow incubus, it is all music to me. i would also like to add, i have seen a lot of bands live, and nobody can rock like incubus. the crowd connects with the band, and the band really makes us all want to get down when they're on stage. when at an incubus concert, i felt free, i felt like i could relate to all of the other fans. every incubus fan should go to a concert, if you haven't yet. ;) |
Incubus – Favorite Things Lyrics | 22 years ago |
hmm.. i am not going to express my ideas on religion, because it seems like no matter what one would say about it on here, they'd probably get an outburst of opinions thrust back on them. it makes me feel better to know, that there is a band like incubus out there, to express these thoughts and emotions a lot of us have towards society, as they do in a lot of songs. society shouldn't be able to put boundries on things that so many people do, and so many people are safe doing. "too bad the things that make you mad are my favorite things," can be about a lot of things that religions, and our society views as wrong. to quote ben harper "if it's causing no harm, why should it bother you" and "if you don't like my fire, than don't come around, cuz i'm gonna burn one down." i am not saying this song is particularly, and exclusively only about pot, but i think it is probably at least influenced by the idea of it being illegal and looked down upon. i wish people could think about what it is that is really so bad about the things people do, to make themselves happy... the end, for now... |
Incubus – Are You In? Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i think this song is a lot different from their old music, but it's not a bad thing. i love all of of their music, the way they're going with the music they are creating now, i think, is positive for the masses. it seems a lot of disguisting music is being called music, these days, when no one is using their souls to create it. i think to make beautiful music, you have to put yourself into it, and the way these five guys compose music is brilliant. i think they are trying out different sounds, and styles, and maybe directing peoples attention back to a more calm style of rock. this song is beautiful, and i do think this song is about smoking pot, but you might have to be a pot smoker to understand it... |
Incubus – Make Yourself Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i love this song, and i think every incubus song is amazing, musically and poetically. this song is so true, and if everyone could listen to it, and understand it, so many more people would be enlightened. the way the message is put across however, makes the song. for example: " and if i f*** me, i'll f*** me in my own way!" only incubus could write a song like this, and make it so beautiful. and incubus is just as beautiful as their songs, i got a chance to meet them, and although it was short, it was sweet. people often say stars/musicians are down to earth, but they don't get more down to earth than incubus. |
John Mayer – No Such Thing Lyrics | 22 years ago |
when i first heard this song, i immediately took a strong liking to it. i love to sing and write music for fun, and his lyrics brought up something so simple, but so well put, i wish i would've written them. but i truly appreciate this song, especially after having just graduated, because for those of you who have, it is a very emotional time. The lives we knew were suddenly abolished, and everything we've ever been told about the real world really doesn't matter. i heard this song at the perfect time in my life, when so many people were trying to tell me what to do, and what you need to do to succeed... it's not about conforming to and idea of life and following it, it is about being creative in finding what you want to do, "you've got to rise above." as for "i want to run through the halls of my high school," those lyrics in particular make me think of my last day of school, ever (senior year) and how one of the vice principles, the harshest ones, made me sit in in school suspension my last day of school, all day. i had never been in that room before, let alone all day. i didn't get warning, i was called down during first period that day. i sat in there all morning crying, and realized that it didn't matter, and this wasn't making me realize what i did wrong.... it was pointless, and for that, i would like to run through the halls of my high school.... sorry to ramble on... but i had to let all this out... love to all;) |
