Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I think they split up because, while playing live, their bassist threw his bass at the lead singer. Something crazy like that! I could be wrong, but tthats the story I heard. |
Ozzy Osbourne – Dreamer Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This song is about Global Warming. Thats It! The line: "After all there's only just the two of us And here we are still fighting for our lives" refers to the planet and ozzy, NOT him or him wife. This is NOT a love song. As for my opinion, this song is sheer brilliance (does however sound scarily like Imagne by John Lennon both lyrically and musically). I wasn't an ozzy fan before, but I am now. Im going to buy Down to Earth tomorrow. |
Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Two words: Teenage Sex!!!! The song is so bloody obvious (Im not going to explain every single line, just the most relevent ones). Second line refers to loosing one's virginity, and the amount of people who pretend they've lost theirs!!! Hello - How Low? of course describes oral sex. Gift I feel blessed - The ability to have sex. stupid and contagous refers to everybodys fears of unprotected sex. I found it hard to find- refers to the lack of sexual education some teenagers have. i.e. he couldn't find the womans c**t. Finally, the closing lines of this song, A Denial- the most feared thing known by teenagers the world over. In my opinion, not the best Nirvana song, however, definately up there. Plus, I have to agree with foreignman above ^. Why does Kurt get all the credit? NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF ALL THE MEMBERS IN A BAND!!! |

The Beatles – Blue Jay Way Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This song was written by George in BLUE JAY WAY, the name of a house (or road i can't remember) in L.A. which he was staying in at the time. The other Beatles were on their way to meet with him, but got lost on the way, and George was left waiting for some time. It was while waiting for them that the song was written |
The Beatles – Nowhere Man Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This is one of my favourite Beatles songs. This is how I interoperate it.... At the time it was written, The Beatles were trying to break out of their shell and become more opinionated (their views on Vietnam for example). Their first "break away" record was REVOLVER. With the song "Nowhere Man", they continue with this "breaking away". In the first five lines they try to establish a sad almost pathetic character. A "Nowhere" man if you will. Then, when the listener is thinking about what a pathetic individual this nowhere man is, the line "Isn't he a bit like you and me" comes along. The listener now compares himself/herself to this man and thinks, "could I be like that?", just like The Beatles probably did at some point. The lines "Nowhere man please listen, you don't know what your missing", and, "Nowhere Man, the world is at your command", try to establish that having an opinion is better than not having one. The rest of the song just continues this theme. I n short, it is a reply to people who feel that the new direction The Beatles took was too controversial and, all in all, a bad decision. If you agree with my view, or even if you don't, please feel free to e-mail me. |
