In my opinion, this song is about finding your twin flame. Briefly, your twin flame is like a soulmate but much more significant. Your twin flame is the other half of your soul and, by definition, there is only one.

Though there is debate regarding the phases of the twin flame relationship, there is some consensus that there is a distinct separation that occurs once or multiple times. The purpose of the break is for your soul to grow so you can rejoin your twin flame and live the rest of this life in perfect harmony and ultimately transcend reincarnation together. It's a really beautiful concept and one I'd encourage anyone to read more about.

If you'll indulge my twin flame assumption, you'll notice the significance of the line, "when our lights meet." (flame = light)

"I know I loved you then. I know I'd love you now. I know I'll you then. I know I loved you now!" and "We a speak about the future and our past lives." speaks to the encounter of your twin flame across incarnations and each of you knowing you've met before. "Seems like you've known me for so long" furthers this in that you've encountered your twin flame in previous lives and, because they are the other half of your soul, they know you as you know yourself.

The challenge of the twin flame relationship is that it requires so much from both individuals to succeed. Specifically, in the area of destroying the ego. "Will you want to know it?"

When twin flames come together, they are confronted with very uncomfortable truths about themselves. "We're both broken / crazy in our own little ways." Being confronted with this broken/crazy becomes so uncomfortable that even though twin flames fall in love so quickly they have to separate because it's too painful. Every moment with the other punishes the ego and brings all your "baggage" to your conscious mind. This is what leads to the separation.

During this time, the goal is for your soul to grow so you can eventually rejoin your twin flame. However, "Don't wait for me. Don't trust in me. Don't fall for me." is a caution. Just because you want something so badly doesn't mean it will happen in this life. "You can't have everything you want when you want it." But, if it does, "I will be everything you want when you want it."

The words change at the end. "When our HEARTS meet." I interpret this as the twin flames ultimately rejoin and become one. They're no longer separate lights but one heart that is eclipsed. In other words, one heart perfectly on top of the other and appearing as one.

So beautiful.

Or... I'm insane and projecting what I believe to be my present life circumstances onto the song. Wouldn't be the first time. Thank you for reading.
