In my opinion this is a song about lost love. He had something wonderful and failed to see it and now that he has lost her. He regrets it and will do anything to get her back but it sounds like no matter what he does and no matter how much he loves her she'll never love him again. |

I agree to be it's all about the weight of the world coming off of you. Beautiful song. I played it for my friend recently and she loved it. She knows that when I'm with her I forget about all the darkness in my life because she always finds a way to take me to another place. |

I think it's pretty straight forward in my opinion. Someone he loves needs help and is suffering and he wants to be the one who saves her. It sounds like she gives him strength and hope in his own life so he wants to be there for her just like she is for him.
I guess this song sings to me because someone close to me seems to always slip into darkness and I try to be the one who saves her but it never seems like enough. I'm always afraid that one morning I'm going to wake up to find out something awful happened, then I'll never forgive myself because I'd suffer every ounce of pain for her if I could. |

I agree. Seems like it's about someone who has lost their way and doesn't know what to do or how to deal with it. Seems like he regrets a lot of his decisions and has a lot of second thoughts and he knows that there's no one else to blame but himself. I think he wants to change his ways but doesn't know how and it hurts him thinking about all that he's done. |

Sad song. I agree it's about lost love. He wronged her and now he'll do anything to fix it because he still loves her. And the only way to escape his darkness is if she saves him or if he ends his life. |

I just saw Crown the Empire and they were amazing. And I love the contrast in this song. It's so dark with such beautiful emotions behind it. I agree the way I translate this song is that there's a love hate relationship there. I think she hurt him and he hates her for that but yet he loves her so much that he can't live without her and will follow her into her grave. And even though he wants her to feel the pain that he feels he'll always love her and be there waiting for her whether she finds new love or not. Just my opinion. I think we've all been there at one point and the feeling sucks. If you find yourself this way don't lose hope no matter how much it hurts. Hold onto your loved ones and don't give up on yourself. |
