It's this song that makes me realise that Zira is far more evil than Scar ever was. Scar killed his brother, yes, and took over the Pride Lands, but the drought and starvation that followed was just due to him being a poor leader, and since he wasn't fit to lead, he screwed up. His fault was his ambition, and the lengths he would go to succeed. Zira, on the other hand, wants revenge. She's so consumed by it that thinking about is her goddamn lullaby! She want's to kill Simba, but she also wants to kill his child, and tear down his entire kingdom in the name of vengeance. Now, Scar was no good guy, but ambition is a much nobler trait than bloodlust. |

From what I can tell: It's about two old friends that catch up with each other, talking about old memories and the mistakes they've made over the years (breakups and divorce) but despite it all, even if the had the chance, they wouldn't change a thing because these mistakes, these "bruises" have them into the strong that they are today |

I personally find this song to be hilarious! I can't tell whether it's meant to be ironic/self-aware or not but the OTT jingoism of this song is just simply funny. |
