I think this song is about a young couple falling in love and not knowing how to say how either of them feel. "Those three words/Are said too much/They're not enough" is talking about trying to say "I love you" without wanting to overuse it or scare the other lover away. He doesn't know how to make her understand how absolutely in love with her he is. On some interview I saw he told the interviewer "My dad always said falling in love is like chasing cars." I think he made this for his dad as a remembrance song as well as a song to describe his feelings. |

Elena Tonra mainly wrote from things she experienced in some way. I believe this song is about a loss of a lover. But I don't think it was just any lover... I believe it was the only one she had fully fallen in love with and that's what made him so special. I believe that it's a story of a love gone wrong but neither of them wanting to admit that. I believe it's a song of neglect and regret. I think she wants to take everything back that she did wrong and make everything okay and so does he and that's why neither of them have left even though their love is clearly burning to ashes in front of them. Neither of them want to accept the fact that it's over... because once they do they will lose each other forever. |
