You feel like you really get along. You understand she was in previous failed relantioships but you feel like this time it will work out. You didn't look for 'that one girl', but you still found her and you want to smile everything you see her. She brings joy in your life and you've met her by chance. "Yeah its hard to know the truth In this post-modernist view Where absolutes are seen as relics And laughed out of the room And I'm scared to say your name I've cried wolf so many times cause I'm afraid of what you'd want from me Will you find me trough the grey? My minds a minefield of the wretched Its honestly deceptive" He feels different. He sees life and other aspects of it extremely different from everybody else. He is afraid to speak up. He is afraid of intimacy. Nowadays people want you to conform, but his mind is somewhere. He hopes she will understand him even he's honest and shows what he truly thinks. This is the way I see the song and I relate to it. I think it's an incredible song and these lyrics are more than poetry... |

| For me at least, this song is about depression. This "dream" is actually depression. He wants to escape this prison of depression. He got here because of a girl that rejected him. He rushed his relationship with her except of trying to get her to know better so now he lost her. | |

Unfortunately I can't actually interpret everything yet but this is my opinion on these lyrics: "There were two monkeys talking sounding like little dogs They were barking and bitching about what was wrong In the world we were just spacemen taking a ride The gorilla's in his human suit reciting his lines, singing "We all, we all, we all turn on, we all, we all, we all turn off"" Two normal humans talking about something and disagreeing (like abortion, gay marriage,whatever current social problem there is). They both have their opinion about what is wrong and what is not if it should be legal or not. What the band is trying to tell us that we are just normal people in a huge universe and we are just observing the world as best as we can as we don't have any real influence in the great cosmic power. No one has the right to say what is morally right or wrong. We will all die at one point. We are not immortal. We should use the limited time we have on this planet to be good to each other even if we disagree. There is no wrong interpretation and this is what I get from the song. Have a nice day! |
