I use the lyrics of American songs to help my ESL students learn slang. In this song, there are lots of references I don't understand. I've tried to find explanations, but nothing. I really like the song, but don't quite get the lyrics. i don't understand when he sings: You say I'm crazy 'Cause you don't think I know what you've done Why would she call him crazy? He hasn't accused her of anything. If he had said, "You're cheating on me" yes, then she could say, "you're crazy." But he hasn't made any accusations. I thought the video was odd because here's a guy singing in the first person but about a third person, the woman. Why didn't he sing about himself being cheated on? In Adele's Someone Like You, she sings in the first person and she's acting out the song from her perspective. |
