| This is a running theme in this album; see Grist for the Malady Mill's reference to Casey Jones' train crash, which is anachronistic as well. I have yet to discern the purpose, but for me personally it makes the album more magic and less real, like a weird storybook. | |

Cyberghost is right. This is not a love song, or a song about abuse. This is a song about losing the most important parts of yourself to a world some of us never really figure out how to control. The last verse is also quite clearly about surveillance and having no privacy, so that there's not even anywhere you can hide when you are one of these people. |
