Turnpike Troubadours – 1968 Lyrics 10 years ago
Wow, compelling song from the beginning; then an interesting surprise in the last verse when we learn the song's about MLK -- now I really find myself thinking about the meaning behind the interesting imagery.

This is a nice lyric about someone who's been gone so long but so relevant and impactful 40+ years later:
- You've been a long time gone, good to see you my old friend

But why does he say:
- I would sleep if you could drive, I just can't keep my mind alive
- with shaking hands I rub my eyes, free of all my alibis

Gotta say -- I really like listening to the Turnpike Troubadours.
