Chevelle – An Island Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This song to me is about how vanity / fame consumes a person and how the people around them get tired of it. And how that person doesn't realize that it will eventually fade, and will be left alone. - "They said this fun is near the end" And they try to warn this person, but he/she doesn't want to hear it. - "You've worn out welcome way too fast" - "You better bite your tongue" That person has become so consumed that they cant see how they have changed or affected those around them negatively . - "I think it's got fangs" And they believe that others are just envious of their abilities/luck/wealth. - "Watch if they turn, Become the villains" And so one by one this persons ties with those around him/her are severed until that person is left alone on "An Island" |
