The song describes the heightened sensory, almost psycotic effect that sex ('I knew that we'd become one right away' and 'when you hold me, I'm alive') can have on some individuals. In the music video, she is running under an aurora, and then suddenly stops to look at it. She is captivated (imprisoned?) at the vastness and beauty of it (the aurora symbolising the lover's spirit that she carries with her). The love is all-consuming for both of them, especially for her. Yet there is some inner-conflict within her, because she is losing herself, her peace (the ocean) in the experience of giving herself unto him. |
