I love electronic music, with a bit of rock. My favourite is Moby. And yes, my username comes from two of my favourite electronic musicians: Moby and deadmau5.

deadmau5 – Seeya (feat. Colleen D'Agostino) Lyrics 10 years ago
I think this is a song about a lover whose relationship with another has collapsed, and that person was heartbroken and destroyed emotionally in real life, but can picture a world in which this person can simply revert to being a human, and it shows that the relationship does not matter because she is free of him in her own mind, and whatever he does does not change her freedom, which in this case, is dominant over love.

deadmau5 – Raise Your Weapon (feat. Greta Svabo Bech) Lyrics 10 years ago
It's not only the lyrics of this song that express meaning, it's the background music. The pure sounding progressive house in the beginning expresses the relationship, which is pure at first but possibly sugar-coated. The dubstep drop which follows expresses a war, an unannounced dissolution of the good things that the relationship had. The great difference in sound, I think, is the way that one notices that everything changes; implying that everything apparently pure and beautiful in the relationship was taken away.

Agree. People like rap as if it is a goddess of love, where they could be playing this. And in a way, I feel sorry for them.

No, I agree. It's pointless.

I think I can say that it's crap, then.

Moby – Almost Home (with Damien Jurado) Lyrics 10 years ago
This is a song that really speaks to me. I associated it with my dog's untimely death, which broke my heart. But this song made me think about how I'd done my best to give him a worthwhile life, a happy one which he lived to its peak; he was a glue that bound our family together for eight years. It makes me think that in his afterlife, he'd live in our memories, and keep us going strong. And when you love him like we did, that's more than we could have asked for. That's why this song means so much to me. It's beautifully uplifting.

Moby – The Last Day (with Skylar Grey) Lyrics 10 years ago
This song, I think, is about a lover who's interest was dark and insensitive, something she believed to herself she could change. She tried to open out his sentimental side, and tried her best, but he was blind to the lessons she was trying to show him. She would have thought there was a "breaking beauty" within him, but so far, was bypassed within his mind, and was "just to stay awake". But only after he made a powerfully negative response which made her give up and turn away, "when all his work was done", he saw that he had missed an opportunity, and had changed his attitude "he walked out in the sun", but only when it was too late. And she contemplated over how soulless he was the whole time, which was something she felt stupid for having not seen, as it was "right here all along". And any further responses she would get from him "exhaled the dark and grey".

Moby – The Perfect Life (with Wayne Coyne) Lyrics 10 years ago
It's not necessarily about drugs. There is mention of it, but the song is generally about living in a world of joy, where you don't have to question the fact that you can only be truly happy once you have a perfect life. He's putting into perspective what makes his life perfect, this could be drugs, as suggested by WaxWings, it could be a lover, or the feeling of success, anything that makes you happy in life for certain is perfect in this case.

This song is amazing. Give it more attention. And the video is amazingly surreal.

Depeche Mode – Heaven Lyrics 10 years ago
I see this as a strongly motivated approach to love, in which the singer states that he will be feeling on top of the world, and having the need to lead his thoughts, and letting it show. The flaw in this is that he knows that many of his ambitions are those which he cannot control, and it may end catastrophically for him. Either way, he's met with a sense of pure feelgood; he's in heaven.

This song, I think, despite being completely different and lacking lyrics, can flow on from the beat of Wasted Time. Beautifully.

Fear Club – Drifting (feat. Dani Mari) Lyrics 10 years ago
This, I think, is about a woman who pursued a potential lover and was persistent to know more about him, in spite of having to go back on a path, and apparently in vain as he was uninterested and blind to an opportunity. But when he did actually look back, she saw something that she disliked, and despite the fact that she was turned off, she was still in love.

Fear Club – Wasted Time (feat. Ashley Garcia) Lyrics 10 years ago
The simple meaning of this song is to say that one shouldn't be bothered by the hard things in life, particularly concerning how others treat one. The title, specifically saying "Wasted Time", however, would suggest that one already has, and should stop, and the lesson to learn is that feeling bad for yourself as a matter of what people say to diminish your optimism will waste your time.
This song, I think, with the soothing progressive beat, is probably one of the most mesmorising and uplifting songs that I know. Truly Robin's finest work.

Moby – At Least We Tried Lyrics 10 years ago
This is a very sad song; it exposes the pain you feel from any significant form of loss; breakup, death, anything. It shows that in these situations, one loses all power to keep control, knowing that you'll miss what you had.

Pharrell Williams – Happy Lyrics 10 years ago
Is nobody seeing the irony?

Yes, the song may seem on the surface to be, as he put it, "happy", but it's all the perspective of a creep underneath. The guy's basically saying, I don't know you, but I'm going to throw in several sex clichés like you're "a room without a roof", which is obviously double-sided. Think about it. He's implying that the girl HAS a room without a roof, and that he's trying to get her pregnant. And don't start me on the hot air balloon in space.
The song is all about him trying to get this girl to "clap" with him and "warning" that he'll be cool with it. Why warning? Where's this creep going with this? He doesn't care, because he's, I don't know, "happy"? Or more than that?

P.S. I'm not a moron; I'm simply someone who can read between the lines. As you clap along to this song, you're doing so in such irony.

Moby – We Are All Made of Stars Lyrics 10 years ago
Away with everyone saying how good or bad everything is. Besides, how are the unique Moby and mainstream Eminem related in any way? Appreciate the fact that this is an astonishing song, and if you thin, one of the most meaningful.
Moby is showing various subjects in the lyrics to this song. The main message is how we should perceive our world. The music video shows him as an outsider amongst celeb culture, where the message that we can achieve anything from minds like the "stars" is wrongly implied. What he is actually saying is that we are here because of stars in the sky; which is scientifically valid. Every chemical element heavier than helium was created by fusion within stars, which went onto later stellar generations, including our solar system. Therefore, we are all made of stars.
Moby has also contrasted the science with patterns we follow in our lives; supposedly a reminder of our origins. Humans, like stars, are growing in numbers without disturbance or any way to be stopped, but no matter what humans or stars do, past or fate cannot be changed. Humans and stars are both born and both die no matter what, and although we know how both came to be, there are still uncertainties, and we know both will come to an end as one, but do not know how or when. This is all implied by what I consider the most philosophical lyrics I know, which are simple but to a great effect. So anyone who does not like this song has not understood it. If you don't, you should look at this in a mindful way and not criticise.

Moby – Extreme Ways Lyrics 10 years ago
It could be both. One the one hand, it suggests that his expectations were, to his mind, worthy, before it went pear-shaped. On the other hand, it could be a sarcastic way to express the hardships he faced in pursuing his goal, which eventually became too much. It's mind-warping how the music takes you through a whirlpool of emotion. Such that I only get with his music.

Moby – Extreme Ways Lyrics 10 years ago
What Moby's expressing is quite philosophical and poetic in this song. Ultimately, he's saying that his goals were set high, and as this is done, one can put all of their hopes and dreams into it, and in his case, it all falls apart. When one has high hopes, one wishes for their own choices as they expect. Hardships, as they came, he bypassed as he thought they were nothing. Learning a mistake somewhere, his world fell apart, after which, he had to stop and shut himself down. So the lesson to be learned, I'm sure, is to ensure you don't bite off more than you chew, as this may end at your expense.
Enough speculation. I just have to say that this is a fascinating track. The way it drags your soul through it is truly breathtaking. The man is a musical Einstein. I feel that only Moby's music has quite the same effect on me.
