C-Tec – Let Your Body Die Lyrics 6 years ago
I think this song represents a sort of medium between something Jean-Luc DeMeyer hits on in a number of his songs across a number of his projects: fighting the good fight vs utter despair.

The Front 242 song "Crapage" is almost entirely fight.
The C-Tec song "Being Nothing" is entirely despair.
I believe this song is almost entirely despair with just a glimpse of hope/fight at the end.

The voice he's hearing is suggesting the choice of being "chained to the matter" -- be stuck in this miserable, corrupted existence -- or "let your body die". In other words, this sucks, maybe you should just die. This voice comes from culture and society all the time. All around us are people trying to do better but who get "diverted, betrayed and distorted". It's hopeless. So maybe you should just give up. Death is not the end, after all.

We are lost in this world. We have no torch to light up the trail. We DO have the ability to strive and we could do well here and improve our own areas if we apply the effort and we do have the talents we need to do this but is there still time? Did we squander the talents we had? Are they still expecting our call?

Mumford & Sons – Babel Lyrics 10 years ago
I think it's a commentary on false fronts in relationships. You can meet someone and pretty quickly understand how to modify your behavior to meet their expectations. Your "Tower of Babel" consists of the false tongues you speak to convince them that you are everything they ever wanted.

However, if you are true to yourself, if you know your weakness and know your voice and allow your walls to come crumbling down, you may appear weak and thin but you can go forward without a mask, with grace and choice. The trick will be to tear down other people's walls as you run into them -- to get inside to the real them.

"I've never lived a year better spent in love", meaning though he hasn't found his true love, he would rather live without a mask and keep searching for a real love than simply fall in love for the sake of the thing, one worthless Tower of Babel to another. Towers of Babel never last.
