OneRepublic – Counting Stars Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I hope you're kidding because your comment is quite luaghable. FAME equals MONEY. Both things cannot be separated, so you're logic alone is already questionable. Now I do not deny the existence of this so-called evil entity nor do I truly believe in it, but OneRepublic is anything but being part of it. "And I don't think the world is sold on just doing what we're told" Does that even ring a form of rebellion to you? All The Right Moves can be said the same thing if we're following the whole conspiracy theory. *Yes, the lyrics in this website is completely wrong. |
Britney Spears – If U Seek Amy Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This song actually makes a lot of sense. Aside from playfully spelling out F-U-C-K ME, "Amy" is actually her hidden self, which is why "seeking Amy" makes sense. She's craving to let that part of her run wild. That's why in the music video, when inside of the house, she's all wild and crazy but when outside, she's pure and perfect. The song also talks about her image. The things happening in her house is her true self but when going outside, she has to look perfect and smile for the camera. One small mistake in public will result to being on front page in the magazines. The part "love me, hate me. Say what you want about me but all the boys and all the girls are begging to if you seek Amy (F-U-C-K ME)" is actually a double entendre, one meaning actually saying "Everyone wants to see me fucked up. They want to see all the dirt on me" or "The paparazzi wants to fuck me." It's actually a nice satire about her life. |
Lorde – Buzzcut Season Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I think some of you guys are overthinking the song a bit too much. It's definitely not about war or something crazy like that. Lorde already said that the Buzzcut Season is summer. So I think it's safe to say that the song is all about the joys of summer season and not caring about anything else. My last statement might be oversimplifying it but it kinda sums up what the song is about. "So now we live beside the pool, where everything is good" and "But it's so easy in this blue, where everything is good" pretty much tells it all. It's summer season. It's the season where you just lay off, relax and not do anything other than having fun. You don't care about the conflicts or problems that's around you because you already had way too many of that prior to your vacation. "all the girls with heads inside a dream" and "I live in a hologram with you" shows that she has put herself in an illusion during this time. She wants to pretend that she's in a paradise. She knows all too well that she's not, that her life can be a living hell sometimes, but for the sake of her vacation, she wants all her concerns and conflicts to be put way hidden in her mind where it's temporary invisible to her. All her friends are doing the same thing as well. They all know that when the season ends, they have to go back to their normal lives. So they want to make the best out of this season by prentending to be in heaven. "And I'll never go home again" shows how she doesn't want this season to end and just wants stay like this for a very long time. I like this song because it has unique way of telling the story or meaning. It's not a typical summer song where it's all about hitting the beach and showing bikinis. Instead, it's about what's inside your mind during this time of the year. It's goes deeper than just about swimming pool and hot weather, which, in my knowledge, has never been done before by any artist other than Lorde herself. |

The lyrics in this site have way too many mistakes and it seems like the site won't correct the lyrics any time soon (even though I already did submit the "correct" lyrics). For the meantime, please use this one below: "Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things of we could be But baby, I've been I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars Yeah we'll be counting stars I see this life like a swinging vine Swing my heart across the line And my face is flashing signs Seek it out and ye shall find Old, but I'm not that old Young, but I'm not that bold And I don't think the world is sold On just doing what we're told I feel something so right doing the wrong thing I feel something so wrong doing the right thing I could lie, could lie, could lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things of we could be But baby, I've been I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things of we could be But baby, I've been I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars I feel the love and I feel it burn Down this river every turn Hope is a four letter word Make that money, watch it burn Old, but I'm not that old Young, but I'm not that bold And I don't think the world is sold On just doing what we're told I feel something so wrong doing the right thing I could lie, could lie, could lie Everything that downs me makes me wanna fly Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things of we could be But baby, I've been I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things of we could be But baby, I've been I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned Everything that kills me... makes me feel alive Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things of we could be But baby, I've been I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars Lately, I've been I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things of we could be But baby, I've been I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned Take that money, watch it burn Sink in the river, the lessons are learned" Apologies if I also make mistakes on the lyrics as well. But at least this one is better than the shown above.... |
OneRepublic – Counting Stars Lyrics | 10 years ago |
@Grim_poet I did know that the people upstairs were some sort of religious people and that the guy "inspiring them to dance" is some sort of a preacher. I didn't point that out because I thought it was already obvious. The story of the guy falling down, that I didn't know. Thanks :) |
OneRepublic – Counting Stars Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This song can speak for everyone because it's a life-lesson kind of song. It's gives an example of a person going broke and I'll explain it (as best as I can) below: A lot of us likes trying to live in a "high-class" kind of life, not even thinking if we do it because it makes us happy or we do it because we are told to do so ("I'm just doing what we're told"). And even if we live up to the standards (after struggling hard to reach it), the happiness we get are only temporary. In just a few moments, we'll be feeling empty again, craves for other things again, and go down again. It's a cycle to most people. They work hard just to to feel short-time happiness. Most of us can be easily blinded by material things (in most cases, money). We get obsessed with it and sometimes, our obsession becomes the main cause of our downhill. He takes the money, watches them burn (spends it), sinks in the river (of bills), and finally learns his lesson. After finally seeing his big mistake, he reflects on his life and realizes that there's more to life than just money and material things, thus the whole "no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars." The part "I feel something so right doing the wrong thing. And I feel something so wrong doing the right thing" shows how wrong it is to try to live in the "high-class" standard. Let's face it, most of use likes spending a lot of money just to look classy and rich. And we like bragging about our "expensive toys" even though most of them are completely useless. It's his way of showing that he's finally trying to live in a way that most people would call "different" or "weird", but in reality, it's the right way to live. Some of us just see it as wrong. Most parts of the verse/s shows the feeling of excitement and joy on his new point-of-view in life after learning his lesson (I see this life like a swinging vine; Swing my heart across the line; I feel the love and I feel it burn down this river every turn). The chorus shows the person fantasizing about his future life, on how someday, he will get out of this living hell of debts and being broke. How someday, he will finally be free from the jail he has put himself to. I like how upbeat this song is because it shows how wild and graceful life can be. It's an amazing way to show how it feels to live in a life without putting ourselves in chains by following what some call "standard way of living." You know what they say, "we only live once." So we might as well make the best of it. Use your life properly and don't be fooled by the traps. Anyhoo, this is my brief intrepretation on one of my favorite songs. I hope you guys appreciate it. And I hope I didn't make too long or too messy. P.S To those people who don't understand the music video: Ryan Tedder (singer of the band) represents the broke person. The dancing people upstairs are those living their life to the fullest. They enjoy it because they know they are free. The alligator symbolizes the greedy people or the money hungry people. There's a reason why Ryan Tedder and the alligator are placed in a more wrecked/ruined place while the dancing people are placed in a nicer environment. |
