I used to think it was about this guy who finds the satanic bible and goes crazy. But now, I think it's about drug abuse. The bible black being the drug and this poor soul becomes devoted to it. It's basically a song about drug issues disguised in religious lyrics. This religion fools this weak minded soul just like a drug does. Y'know what? Now that I'm thinking about it, it's about neither. It's just about obsession in general. Who knows, really. Dio wanted you to make up your own mind what it meant. So, I could be right, I'm most likely wrong, but we'll never know. It's not like we can ask Ronnie what the fuck he was talking about. |

I could be totally wrong, but I never interpreted the song as a song about heroin. I always interpreted it as this guy is with this chick, he gets out a bong and starts lighting up with her and they have this amazing high together. As I said I could be completely wrong. |
