Twenty One Pilots – Heathens Lyrics 7 years ago
@[ChloeCurlier:17667] I have been listening to twenty one pilots for years now...before they blew up and i have to say that they are not to me as they were before. Maybe because i have changed so much in these past few years myself. i see them differently. i hear Tyler's words differently. Christian band....i use to thinks so. Tyler is a "christian", and almost every song has something to do with his life or belief in God, but i wouldn't say it glorifies God. For the most part he sounds honest. That is one of the main things that i think draws people in. Its less about praising his creator and more about sharing his issues with the world. In a lot of his songs he mentions suicide, but its not always what he is referring to. The unbeliever who has no knowledge of Christ and what the word of God says, will have no clue that he means something totally different. Saying no to our fleshly desires to grow in and please God could be referred to as suicide, if you know how the apostle Paul teaches. Tyler uses a lot of imagery and if you only listen with assumptions you wont get the proper picture.

Sakurawinds, using Gods name in vain is not saying it. Its not a sin to call upon His name. Its a sin to use it in vain. In a careless manner.

Twenty One Pilots – Oh, Ms. Believer Lyrics 8 years ago
Wow! And the light bulb shines! Thanks to my fellow commenters, I now have a better meaning to this song. (Misbeliever) gives the song so much more meaning, than what I thought. I never made the connection, but the rest of the lyrics fit perfectly.

"Oh, Miss Believer, my pretty sleeper
Your twisted mind is like snow on the road
Your shaking shoulders prove that it's colder
Inside your head
In the winter of dead"

-This is the picture of the unbeliever. Asleep, twisted thoughts and beliefs, without understanding, fear, cold (heart), death.

(I will tell you I love you
But the muffs on your ears will cater your fears
My nose and feet are running as we start
To travel through snow
Together we go)

-God, by his Holy spirit gives us opportunities galore to accept his love. To believe in his truth, but we are distracted by everything, like our car radios (down with them all!!!) :) We ignore his promptings to follow him because we would rather do things our way. We are selfish and sinful, but he offers life, for the wages of sin are death. Traveling through snow is hard, as is the journey of a believer, but the life of an unbeliever is no life at all.

Anywayzzzzzz... Yesterday this song was just a pretty sounding one about some chick. And today it is new to me. The same, but better all around. I hope "Ruby" is metaphorical and will change too.

Twenty One Pilots – The Judge Lyrics 8 years ago
I just finished reading what "JCGJON" had to say and now, heh, I must say as well. I try not to comment much on songs, and only read interpretations and comments for a song I just cant figure out or completely love. I want to know what the song truly means. What the writer felt when he, or she wrote it. Not everyone else's opinion. Some of the interpretations are just plain silly. A truly saved person has a completely different way of looking at things even when in the exact same situations as someone unsaved. I do not agree with the comment made by "JCGJON" and probably many more, but it doesn't matter because that is what this site is here for. Duh? Gotcha, im just gonna say that I believe that this song is more about once again the battle between spirit and flesh. Tyler's having the desire to surrender to God, but being stuck in the flesh. Btw, I believe its, "Hell's (hot) for good reason". Just sayin.

Might I reply to my own comment to make sure that no one is confused...When I said, "Take him out" I was referring to the fleshly inner man! The Part of us that does not want to live in obedience to God. I did not mean (let us take out Tyler). I was rooting for Tyler to choose life over death, blessings over cursing.

I couldn't remember if I had commented on this one or not, and upon rereading it, I would like to take back the part about loving when Tyler tests God. Their should be no joy in listening to someone do something so foolish. I do enjoy listening to his music and how he seems to speak about God from his heart with sincerity, but sometimes I wish I could just sit with him and share some things. I want to share the truth, and I know that we are all at different points on our journey with God, but he is influencing a bigger audience out there than me.

Twenty One Pilots – Not Today Lyrics 8 years ago
Sometimes God shows up when we aren't looking. That's what I get from this song. Unless I get the truth behind these written words, I will continue to look at it as a song about someone who has decided that life is to hard to live trying. He is resisting Gods work in his life. Hope seems lost, giving up seems best. Living half-heartedly. Lukewarm. He has put God on the backseat, and his emotions (feelings) in the drivers spot! God is far from his mind. I believe that he is saying that God calls to him to follow and obey, but he ignores Gods voice and does what he is use to. What is easier to him instead. Over time that voice gets harder to hear, and our own thoughts grow louder.

(You are out of my mind, ooh
You aren't seeing my side, ooh
You waste all of this time trying to get to me
But you are out of my mind)

Then I believe that God shows up and he has no choice but to take notice. Let the light in! Stop resisting. Step out of the darkness and into the light. "Windows open" could mean an open heart. Make a noise to me would be repentance, prayer, or praise.

I'm guessing next his flesh (mind, will, and emotions) throws a tantrum. Maybe.

Oh, don't you test me, no
Just because I play the piano
Doesn't mean not
I'm not willing to take you down
I'm sorry

I'm, I'm out of my mind, ooh
I'm, I'm not seeing things right, ooh
I waste all this time trying to run from you
But I'm, I'm out of my mind

Testing, piano keys, and take downs. Maybe. He is sorry though. He knows the fight is pointless. Yet, here he goes again. back to his old ways. Its a mountain that we must all circle until we have had enough and submit to god. The Israelites spent 40 years on an eleven day journey. Come on Tyler. Press into God!

Basshunter – Boten Anna Lyrics 8 years ago
To be honest. I have had many fun times while listening to this song. I have heard that's it about a bot name Anna, but really I don't care. Sometimes I'm glad I don't know the meaning behind songs because they may stink and ruin it for me. I don't believe in ignorance being bliss, except maybe with this one. I'll take your word for it, but really his voice is so beautiful and the music is upbeat, and addictive. I'm going in for Dota!

Tyler Joseph – Save Lyrics 8 years ago
This song will always be one of my most favorites. From anyone. The first time I listened to it, I was so deeply affected that I decided to give over the title "most favorite band of all time" Congrats. I cried like a baby, not only cause its a great song, but for him to mention the name Jesus, was beautiful. Mater of fact I think its the only song in which he uses the name. Every one throws around the name God, but when you say "Jesus", things get serious, and I'm not talking about when people see something gruesome, or stub a toe. Their is power in the name of Jesus, and this I believe is Tyler's most powerful song. Anywayz... I have been in those shoes. I've begged the same question. I have felt ashamed for turning away, but by the grace of God, he is still around when we come to our senses. Grace was a hard one for me to wrap my head around, but its also something I believe that I'm most thankful for.

I think the worlds only explanation for most of the things that Tyler writes about in his songs is to assume he is schizo. Its nice how he keeps mentioning in songs how these lyrics aren't for everyone. Unless he has come out and said this is a disorder he has and I missed it then I am sticking to the belief that "blurry" is not (Tyler side # 2) Its a BATTLE against good and evil. Flesh and spirit. He needs help crucifying the flesh "Take him out".

Twenty One Pilots – Polarize Lyrics 8 years ago
Sunday on fire could actually mean the complete opposite. Which would be very good. Not a church literally in flames, but "on fire". Burning with the fire of the holy spirit, but I think in this song what you say might fit better. He's lost his halo, and if the church is burning down metaphorically, then maybe he is losing his love, his passion for God. Sundays aren't the same anymore when you aren't hungry for him. When you aren't interested like the yesterdays. Or maybe like I've witnessed myself, your church can be on fire, and the presence of God can be so strong, but you can be there like a cold stone that doesn't belong. You feel like you've "lost your halo" It happens when you put him on the back burner of your life.

Wow. You know your stuff. I just figured he was talking about wanting more of God, and not being able to find him. Your relation to the story of zacchaeus has me enjoying the song even more. I never would have thought of comparing the two, but you did and I give you props. I wonder if Tyler had that story in mind when he wrote it? Great minds think alike.

Twenty One Pilots – March to the Sea Lyrics 10 years ago
The first time I listened to this song, I just assumed it was maybe about soldiers going off to war. I didn't really pay attention. Every time the song came on I just half listened and then skipped it. Well, I finally started to pay attention and I realized finally what he was saying to this half listener. I myself am on the same journey. Its a battle. I want to listen to that voice inside my head that calls out to me, but just like I was with this song, I'm still half listening. The space ship and voice is God, we are all on a march to our ends and its the same end for everyone, except for those who choose to follow that voice. He may keep us here on earth and in the same houses with others going the wrong direction, but he stays with us till the end. In the end we won't drown, we will rise to join Him.

Maybe it seems a little far fetched, but sometimes I wonder if this song is secretly about the blood of Jesus. Maybe, I just hope it could be, but I think I give the writer to much credit for his beliefs. Sha-da-di-da-dum...

If it was "Why WOULD you let us use your name", it would make more sense, because God does let us use His name. We use it to get saved, pray, and in authority. I love this song and just yesterday I was listening to this song and singing along, outside, in the rain and thunder, and I chose to shut my mouth. I know God exists, and I'm not about to test him, although I love listening to joseph do it.

Really? No one has commented on this song? Kitchen Sink is one of my most favorite songs.
I wish people would listen more to these words than the meaningless crap that is poured into their ears everyday, by people that claim to artists. Anyways, I think it is pretty self explanatory, only I wonder what event may have taken place at his kitchen sink. A game of monopoly to you, is not the same to me.

I really like your interpretation of this song. It fits. I'm not to jolly over the idea of her suicide, which now gives the song more depth, but also adds the gloom effect when I listen to it.

All I know is that I have been here many times before. Have you ever had to ride to the music of the wind? How about when your mind is in overdrive? Its just like at night when you put your head upon that pillow and you actually realize you have a life. Its so easy to ignore your own life, but when you realize that you can't escape yourself, and you are always there...These are the times that can make, or break you.

Lecrae – Background Lyrics 11 years ago
This song is about something that I struggle with everyday. Its hard for me to fall into his control, because I am always in the way. I know that keeping God on the back burner is only keeping me from moving forward, so when I hear this song, I am reminded that giving God first place in my life, keeping him ahead of me, is not only "crazy" but necessary. God is all that I need and I don't know how I keep failing to see that.

Twenty One Pilots – Migraine Lyrics 11 years ago
Well, in my opinion this song is about thoughts. We can take the lyrics to a song and apply them in any way to our own lives, and this one to me is a reminder that I am not the only one who has had to deal with an attack on the mind, or maybe it was just me all along. All I know is that the mind is a battlefield and we can choose to win or lose. I believe that the lion in the song is Satan, cause he loves to use our mind as a garbage dump. We can choose to listen and dwell on his roaring lies, or we can choose to reject it.

I have to say the first time I heard this song I cried. The lyrics are more real to me than most you would find about someone bearing heart to Jesus. I guess its easy for someone to miss the name in the song, but the moment I heard it, I realized that all of us in this world are so tightly connected and don't even know it. maybe it sounds silly, but that's the way it was and is. Its all about one man and how easy it is to become a slave to ourselves instead of a follower of the one who matters most.
