I wrote that song for a friend of mine. She would tell me stories about how her parents neglected her as a kid. My parents were so awesome growing up, I can't imagine what that would have been like. When she was little, she would climb into her neighbor's trees just to see if her parents would notice that she was gone. It really messed her up growing up and still kind of affects her now in her 20s. I wrote "Hold On Till May" to see if she could get any kind of closure on that part of her life. She ended up sending the song to her mom. Her mom didn't know how to respond." -This is a direct quote from an Interview with Pierce the Veil in Alternative Press Magazine. The title seems to be about Oliva Penpraze, even though the lyrics were written for Vic's friend. Maybe it was written for both of them? |

The title of this song hints at that same thing, but the song itself was written for a girl that Vic was friends with - her parents neglected her and she used to run away from home to see if anyone would notice (that's what the first few lines are about.) | |
