Great comments from others....I love this song. Two things, one Smith Corona was sung as Smith a Wesson still talking about Pearl Handled Deck...and two there is another seldom heard verse....by WZ. Every time I hear that siren scream you know I have a heart attack and your big old Samoan Boy friend Said he gonna come and break my back. My 3 year old daughter learned this song and sang it for my mom and dad when she got to the I'm all strung out.....they freaked |

| When this song first came out it was up beat, happy funny sounding Bob Dylan pounding thing that I just did not enjoy at all...weakest song of his I would say...then I heard him sing it in concert and was blown away. He slowed it down gave some real feelings....If ya get a chance listen to both....the live CD he just put out has a great live version. I happened to hear the other day and liked so much I had to learn it....sometimes I like to change to the name of the hot little town I used to live in on chorus In stead of Mexican home I say San Andreas Home...hotter than hell there too....and it was my front porch where I learned of my fathers passing......... | |

| I'm new to this site and P&L is the first song I looked up....and no comments. I'm surprised. I've had more discussions about this song than maybe any other....Is there any thing in the song that says they ever even knew each other? Some say no I say yes....which one is the favorite son? What I like the most about the song is how it can take you to a different "place", every time you hear it and play it. Hardest song I ever learned because the lyrics can distract you as you are playing the song. TVZ is one of the very best song writers ever.... | |
