Eagles – Best of My Love Lyrics 4 years ago
I play in a cover band. Sometimes we change the lyrics slightly as a joke. With this song, I said, "Hey, she's getting the best of his love. What if he was singing to those others who are just getting the leftovers?"
So I suggested, "You get the rest of my love." Our bassist liked, "You get what's left of my love." In any case, the lyric makes clear that both are seeing others as well as each other.
Other commenters have said the guy wants to fix what's wrong, but it sounds to me like he's given up and just waiting for the deathstroke: "You know we always had each other, baby. I guess that wasn't enough."

Bob Dylan – You Ain't Goin' Nowhere Lyrics 6 years ago
@[hardrainfallin:26011] "...which takes away all true meaning of the songs."
If you know "all true meaning of the songs" then nothing can take it away. A difference in interpretation is just that. It's another artist showing what the song means to him. I doubt anyone would argue that "Blowin' in the Wind" was commercialized by Peter, Paul and Mary. Nor is "All Along the Watchtower" drained of meaning by Jimi Hendrix; in fact, he greatly expands the meaning by describing musically what the words do lyrically.
Dylan was a poet. A host of performers took his raw lyrics and put them to real music. Likely he would have remained a local, underground New York phenomenon much longer than he did without the help of radio-friendly renditions by true musicians.

What idiot put the line "Needs a goodbye kiss in the morning, mist"? Good grief! Think before you post, man.
"Ball and chain around their feet" may be right, but I've always heard it as, "Marchin' around the beat".
Having just spoken about people having to work until the weekend, the lyrics then contrast Easy Rider with:
"He's off every day" -- not "Freedom every day", as misquoted above.
And... "Pegs of people"? What? Try this:

See the people line the street
Marching around the beat
Waiting for their weekend treat
But Easy Rider's got 'em all beat, cuz
He's a rider, he's a glider
He's off every day
Easy rider, he's a glider
Ride, tell the wind to pay the way

Morgan and the Hidden Hands – King Lyrics 9 years ago
Another great siren song - "Siren" by Red Delicious. It's on YouTube. It's got the same slinky evil feel that this one has. Gives me goosebumps.
