I just want to add my agreement to the above comment that Lock Up The Wolves is an underrated album: in particular, the song My Eyes is one of my all-time favourite songs (not just of Dio songs, but of ALL songs). I seem to remember that it has no dislikes on YouTube! |

This song seems to be a personal song about Dio's own career with plenty of references to earlier songs (Stargazer, Falling Off The Edge of The World, Heaven and Hell, etc.), and perhaps disillusionment with things ("just get me out of here"). In any case, this is one of my very favourite songs - not just of Dio songs, but of ALL songs. |

To me this is about general paranoia and an impossible wish to avoid danger: to me "Lock Up The Wolves" means "take all the dangers out of life", which is impossible. Something an insecure child might say. |
