| The meaning of the song is very obvious: trying to move on after having your heart broken. It can be anything, end of a relationship, death of a friend, death of a family member, but naturally the vast majority of us will relate to having our heart broken from that one person you cannot live without leaving you. I just heard about these guys earlier this year after the relationship with the love of my life ended so suddenly and unexpectedly. She was my world, and I wanted to marry that girl someday. This song spoke volumes to me, and I just broke down while listening to the soaring chorus. The atmosphere the band creates is absolutely chilling, and Jonny Hawkins' unbelievable vocals rip the emotions right out of you, just as the one that got away did. "How DO you love when your heart is broken?" The answer is you can't, but songs like these help us heal and know that we are not alone, so that one day we CAN "learn to heal with a heart wide open". One of the best songs I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. | |

| I'm only 22, but Def Leppard was the first band I fell in love with thanks to my parents always listening to them my whole life. There is just something about songs like this that they make. It just grabs a hold of those looming memories you try to bury everyday, but know will never leave you. I can't help but think of my ex girlfriend whenever I hear this. Sure, other girls have and will come along, but none of them could ever offer the deep passion I did and will always feel for this woman. Well, OBVIOUSLY this is an album about suicide (if the album art wasn't a hint), these lines of this song are: "Is this really what I wished for When I felt my feet drag heavy on the earth? Is this really the answer I sought when I was searching for self worth? Go now precious whispers, float my sorrows into the sea Let the waves collapse above me, and wash away my fucking memory". I think by "Living Underground" he's talking about being dead and buried, yet his spirit still lives on. The line "So selfish were my footsteps and so foolish are they now, But there's not much I can do here now that I'm living underground" leads me to believe that he regrets making the decision to end his life because he misses his loved ones and regrets the hurt he's caused them: "Speak now my precious whispers, float softly through the breeze Please float on by my loved ones and let them know that I'm still here". |

| Relates so much to me right now my best friend's leaving for college and she was afraid to get any more closer than friends, so now that she's leaving it looks like we won't have a chance later. Who knows maybe it'll end on a good note like the song :D It's basically saying love conquers all because their feelings lead them back to each other. Absolutely love this song. | |

And then he says "I'm the one crazy after all" meaning he knows he's crazy for causing her all this pain and for blowing it and letting her get away. | When he says stuff like "I've been away for so long" and "I can't wait to come back home" it kinda says to me that he's always gone you know like on tour and stuff and wants to be back home the one he loves so badly. I can kinda relate to this not the touring so much, but about missing someone you love. My best friend is going off to college soon and we both have feelings for each other but she's too afraid to go any further with our relationship. This song makes me think of how much I'm gonna miss her :/ | |

I believe it's about losing someone very close to you and how when you're angry and ask God why he'd take them away.(We're begging to you asking you why You took the closest thing to our life). Toward the end it seems to become more personal as the "we's" and "our's" turn to an "I'm" and "my". The title also leads me to believe it is too. Maybe it stands for the date he lost this person. Sometimes, speaking from personal experience, when you become angry and depressed you begin to question life itself. (Please tell me what we live for What's the meaning of our life?) So in short my guess is it's kind of describing the grieving process, but I could be wrong. I just recently heard of this band and love em btw :) |
