Feist – Comfort Me Lyrics 12 years ago
This song makes me think from the point of view of a young woman who's fallen in love with one of her good friends who happens not to be single. He might have feelings back, but he isn't in a position to be with her in any way. She's trying to get over him and she's miserable about it, he can tell she is upset and tries to help her, but he actually makes it harder for her. While she is trying to get over him she resorts to avoiding him, she feels alone and isolated from everyone else (especially her friends because he is a part of the collective group of friends), like a tiny bird in a big sky. Near the end she's so exasperated that she says to herself that she just wants it to be over, to do what she wants and be with him, and she'll take the blame for being a 'home-wrecker'. But she resolves in the end to stay quiet and deal with her feelings by herself, giving up avoiding him and becoming his friend again, being mature about the situation and just making peace with the fact nothing will ever happen between them.

CocoRosie – Werewolf Lyrics 12 years ago
correction: the song is about growing up without a father, the effect that had on them, and then moves on to what i think is that one of them has a romantic (more specifically, sexually abusive) relationship with their brother and how they will get over it. The beginning I think is supposed to be spoken by their father about an experience with peyote, but that is speculation.

It's about their father, not about him molesting them but their experience growing up without a father and the impact it had on them, also how they are determined to "shake him off" and grow stronger.

It's not about a father who molests his daughter.

Feist – The Circle Married The Line Lyrics 12 years ago
This one is pretty self explanatory. The circle and the line represent people that are in a relationship and are two complete opposites. The relationship is floundering and she's asking for some kind of sign to show them where to go next. She's expecting them to break up, looking for a horizon line, because they are clearly having troubles as just him being near her makes her feel like crying and she's looking for a way out.

Feist – Undiscovered First Lyrics 12 years ago
"You can't un-think a thought, either it's there or its not." This line totally sets the stage for the rest of the song. There's something wrong and she isn't sure if she should voice the problem or not. Basically she's getting seriously involved with someone and is unsure if it's what she wants. The mountain is the relationship and the thing that is under it is some kind of secret or problem that is making her doubt getting involved with whoever she is singing to. The mountaineers, believing they would know what to do, try to climb the mountain, or in other words the relationship, but there's still the underlying uncertainty. When the song is reaching its climax basically she is asking "should we do this, should we ignore the problem to continue this relationship even though there's always going to be something hiding just under the surface?"
