Dirty Projectors – Offspring are Blank Lyrics | 7 years ago |
@[Jezro:18022] humans don't deserve to have children. that's your anthrocentrism coming out. |
Radiohead – Fake Plastic Trees Lyrics | 7 years ago |
a lot of the comments fail to allude to the overt materialism in the song. i think it's somewhat of a lamentation on a relationship that isnt meant to be but i feel more strongly toward the idea of a woman trying to create herself through accruing material things and such that she has become plastic. it's this consumption we're so familiar with. so many of us try to establish our identities on the things we buy. |
Bon Iver – 8 (Circle) Lyrics | 7 years ago |
just so all of you know, i had edited the lyrics using the official 8 (Circle) lyrics video as reference but this site has very strange copyright issues so the lyrics have reverted back to being incorrect. specifically the last couple verses. |
Bon Iver – 00000 Million Lyrics | 7 years ago |
"A word about Gnosis; it ain't gonna buy the groceries." This may be the best line I've heard this year. |
Bon Iver – 8 (Circle) Lyrics | 7 years ago |
this is definitely my favorite off of the album. it is shatteringly beautiful. i cant make sense of the lyrics but i will say that i truly admire Justin Vernon's choice to play around with structure throughout the album. his eschewal of traditional verse-chorus song structure plus the non sequitur lyricism is truly magical. |
Grimes – Artangels Lyrics | 7 years ago |
Correct lyrics are as follows. And even a deaf guy could tell the opening lines of the chorus are in French Angel, baby, there is nothing I'd rather do Think I love you but I know that I will never do Everything I love becomes everything I do So, tell me anything, anything you want You're my darling girl, tell me what's on your mind Tell me anything, anything you feel like Anything you feel like Je comprends Je l'ai dit C'est la vie Oh Montréal, pull apart, I don't mind Running every red light, you were right Oh Montréal don’t break my heart I think I love you I think I love you I think I love you I think I love you I think I love you Angel, baby, you got me feeling kinda blue Think I need you and you know the things I would do Everything I love is consolation after you So, tell me anything, anything you like You're my darling girl, tell me what's on your mind Tell me anything, anything you feel like Anything you feel like Je comprends Je l'ai dit C'est la vie Oh Montréal, pull apart, I don't mind Running every red light, you were right Oh Montréal don’t break my heart I think I love you I think I love you I think I love you I think I love you I think I love you Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh I don’t need no medicine Gonna dance all night I’m high on adrenaline That's right, that's right, that's right I don’t need no medicine Gonna dance all night I’m high on adrenaline That's right, that's right, that's right That's right, that's right, that's right That's right, that's right, that's right |
Grimes – Flesh Without Blood Lyrics | 7 years ago |
Your voice, it had the perfect flow It got lost when you gave it up though 'Cause you want money You want fame These lines support that general theme of the consumers of media trying to restrict artists rather than respecting and appreciating what the artists want from their art. It's a conflict most artists have to face when they are thrust into a larger spotlight. It also sounds somewhat like a eulogy to a broken relationship, which in a sense can be applied to her and her audience. I love Art Angels and consider it her best album. |
How to Dress Well – 2 Years On (Shame Dream) Lyrics | 7 years ago |
this is a heavy song. achingly beautiful. |
Beach House – Sparks Lyrics | 7 years ago |
the world of our youth disappears and we're left wondering if it was there at all. a great song. one of their best. |
Wilco – Normal American Kids Lyrics | 7 years ago |
If you're a serious Wilco fan, it's likely that you understand, probably share the sentiment here. How could I not help thinking of most of my peers as those normal American kids? I wasn't getting high but I was distant. Understated but beautiful, my favorite from Schmilco. |
Dirty Projectors – The Socialites Lyrics | 7 years ago |
it's sad that a bunch of the dirty projectors' lyrics here are incorrect. this is a great song though. |
Radiohead – The Numbers Lyrics | 7 years ago |
numbers can be computer coding. perhaps political votes. clocks ticking away and our lives at this point unconsciously revolving around the concept of minutes, hours, and days. listening to this and reading the lyrics, i thought of The Matrix. the lines of scrolling numbers, especially the closing scene. seeing the numbers for what they are and not being bound by them. |
Radiohead – Decks Dark Lyrics | 7 years ago |
@[maniacafrodisiac:15343] really intriguing interpretation. and merely regarding word choice, we get darkness here and light on Desert Island Disk. the album is growing on me. initially wasn't impressed but im coming around. |
Guided by Voices – Awful Bliss Lyrics | 7 years ago |
Listening to it in FLAC and with good headphones, I hear 'awful bliss' all three times. |
Modest Mouse – Make Everyone Happy/Mechanical Birds Lyrics | 7 years ago |
"I'm not sure who I am, but I know who I've been." This is one of my favorite lines ever. Without question a top 5 mouse track for me. I doubt I'll ever know I am. And that's why the song means so much. |
Pavement – AT&T Lyrics | 7 years ago |
@[engravement:14890] Because maybe, you're gonna be the one that saves me |
The Hotelier – Piano Player Lyrics | 7 years ago |
can't help but thinking about Player Piano, the novel by Kurt Vonnegut. not that the song is in any way related. one of the best on Goodness. |
Grouper – Clearing Lyrics | 7 years ago |
"My secret is to be alone" might be the closing line. Regardless, the melancholy comes across without needing absolute clarity of what is being sung. |
Godspeed You! Black Emperor – East Hastings Lyrics | 7 years ago |
I heard it for the first time today. The things you miss when you don't pay attention. |
Joanna Newsom – Sapokanikan Lyrics | 7 years ago |
John Purroy Mitchel died when the plane he was in nose-dived. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt. |
Band of Horses – The Funeral Lyrics | 8 years ago |
That meaning is only faintly suggested through the chorus. Regardless of what the band may have intended for the song to mean (and honestly it was a poor attempt at getting that across), I think the various other interpretations put forth here capture the true emotion that the song elicits. |
Animal Collective – We Tigers Lyrics | 8 years ago |
katydid should be katy did it |
Weezer – Foolish Father Lyrics | 8 years ago |
i love the song but not the message. my father has been emotionally absent throughout my 20 odd years. i resent him, profoundly. but at least it's deterred me from the idea of ever having children. good god i would just end up being him. im a heartless bastard but everything will be alright in the end. |
Kendrick Lamar – Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe Lyrics | 8 years ago |
all this time i thought he was saying shitty family put me on stages. i like it better that way. love this song and the whole album is fantastic. |
Animal Collective – FloriDada Lyrics | 8 years ago |
I love it. It feels like the AnCo of old but sounds fresh. |

its the modern day Heroin. or something akin to it. brilliant song and album. one of my favorites from 2014. |

Titus Andronicus – Stable Boy Lyrics | 8 years ago |
i could listen to this song forever. it carries that sort of puissance. |
Father John Misty – Strange Encounter Lyrics | 9 years ago |
drug overdose perhaps? botched suicide attempt? this is a gorgeous song. |
Father John Misty – Bored in the USA Lyrics | 9 years ago |
the anthem for disillusioned millenials |
Father John Misty – Holy Shit Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Instead of instant streams, I've been hearing incest dreams. Whoops. Anyways, the final line feels to me to be as if he's trying to shelter himself and a love interest from all the cynicism that seems to define him. He is as disillusioned as they get but he desperately wants to see if his personal circumstances (involving someone else) can be shielded from all that he sees is wrong in his world. |
Have a Nice Life – Cropsey Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Such a chilling intro. Tremendous song from a great album. |
Sandro Perri – Wolfman Lyrics | 9 years ago |
top down, pushing 20 over the speed limit, off to wherever the road takes you. this is that type of song. |

this is a magical song. so fitting as the closer to Shields, a majestic beauty. |
Pavement – Perfume-V Lyrics | 9 years ago |
sir. not soul damn it. |
Pavement – Perfume-V Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Like a poor old soul. Not poor droll soul. |
Bon Iver – Beth/Rest Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Are you a wizard? I don't know how someone could possibly piece all that together from the beautiful lyrics that seems ostensibly undecipherable. I want your damn talent. AH why can't I be this good at interpretations. |
Pavement – Two States Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I loled |
Pavement – Hit The Plane Down Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I wouldn't mind just a milligram up my sleeve. Seems pretty self-explanatory to me. Fantastic song by the way. |
Pavement – Range Life Lyrics | 12 years ago |
There was so much emotion in his voice on those old Pavement records. :/ But Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain was their sophomore outing. So it is an old Pavement record. |
Modest Mouse – Whenever I Breathe Out, You Breathe In (Positive/Negative) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'll be quite honest with all of you, I find the production value to be fantastic. In fact, I think it makes the song. You think it's poor. I have no idea why. |
Modest Mouse – Dark Center of the Universe Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm pretty sure that it's "equally, easily fuck ya over". Equally comes before easily. Get those song lyrics right. |
