Apocalyptica – Wie Weit Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm too lazy to interpret the whole song, but I feel like the line "I cannot escape the feeling I was a permanent guest" is about feeling like you don't realy belong in the world, therefore you are a just a guest. |
Apocalyptica – Bittersweet Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm a big Rasmus fan, but I almost DIED laughing when I read 'feather boy'! |
The Rasmus – Sky Lyrics | 12 years ago |
It sounds like someone is dying, and they desperately want more time to live so they can set right all the things they did wrong before they go. I could be wrong, but that's what I took from it. I LOVE this song either way :) |
The Rasmus – End Of The Story Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I might be way off, but it sounds to me like he cheated on his girlfriend, and he feels really guilty about it. I think the 'you' is the girl he cheated with, and the 'she' is his girlfriend. He can't stop thinking about the other girl, but he wants to, because he doesn't want to hurt his girlfriend who has no idea about the whole thing. He just wishes he had never met the other girl in the first place. |
The Rasmus – Dead Promises Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This is what Lauri said about this song: "That speaks about our choices of life. When we are on the road, the life is different. Sometimes, you start to sleep whereas the sun starts to lie down. We can’t live all the time with the hidden sun. Reality returns quickly, once the finished concerts. There too, we shouldn’t veil the face." After reading this, I think that the sun represents reality, and that you make choices that seem like a really good idea at the time, but when the sun comes up, you realize that it wasn't really a good choice after all. The sun shows you the painful truth and deception, so you want to run and hide from it and all the consequences of your choice that it has revealed. Reality can be painful, so he just wants to leave it behind. |
The Rasmus – I'm A Mess Lyrics | 12 years ago |
How is it that nobody has commented yet?? Anyway, I just read an interview where Lauri said this song is basically about how nobody is perfect. |
The Rasmus – Lucifer's Angel Lyrics | 12 years ago |
These lyrics are easy for me to understand. It's about labeling people because they are different. |
Nightwish – The Riddler Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I don't think it is about wanting to know the meaning of life or anything. I think it's about how science sort of spoils all the wonder in the world. It's like when you are a child, and the world seems more magical, because you don't know how everything works. I think when it says "I wish to be touched, not by the hands of where's and why's, but by the Ocean's minds" he is saying that he doesn't want to know the technicalities of how the world works, but would rather just enjoy the mystery. (The ocean is mysterious, because it's very deep, and you can't see what's beneath the surface). I am perplexed as to what he means by "for nature hates virginity", though. Any ideas? |
Nightwish – I Want My Tears Back Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I believe his 'tears' represent his lost innocence, so when it says he wants his tears back, it means that he wants his innocence back. |
Nightwish – Turn Loose The Mermaids Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I feel like the mermaids represent something in this, especially when it says "the mermaids you turned loose brought back your tears", but I'm not sure what. Any ideas? I do think that the 'tears' represent his lost innocence, though, because of the song "I Want My Tears Back". |
Within Temptation – Faster Lyrics | 12 years ago |
FYI, it's 'faster for LIFE', not 'love'. It's got a whole new meaning now, doesn't it? |
Within Temptation – Pearls Of Light Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I have sort of a different interpretation for this. When I first listened to this song, I imagined her walking from the cruel world into this beautiful forest. Over time she just sort of forgot about the outside world and became part of the forest. You see, when she said the rain covered her roots,I took it literally as if she had become a tree herself. I think that the forest represents her fantasies, and she gets so caught up in blocking out reality that she forgets she is from the 'real world'. Instead of literally becoming a tree, she becomes part of the fantasy world she has created in her mind. |
Nightwish – Slaying The Dreamer Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This is something that just about any artist/poet/musician can relate to. You put all your heart into creating something, and the people who don't understand just mock you for it and then try to take advantage of you. When he says 'the great ones are all dead', I think he is referring to all the famous artists/poets/musicians who were never appreciated until after they died. I myself can truly relate to this song, and for the record, I'm not goth. |
Nightwish – Slow, Love, Slow Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I always laugh when she says 'ice-cream-castles', because it reminds me of Candyland, lol! |
Nightwish – Slow, Love, Slow Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think this is the part where Anette is wearing the red dress and lying on the piano as seen in the 'Storytime' video. |
Nightwish – Storytime Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Fail. Sorry guys! |
Nightwish – Amaranth Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Personally, I think Tuomas is making a comparison between Satan's being cast out of Heaven to his own loss of innocence. I think the Amaranth represents the lost innocence that he is "reaching" and "searching" for. I don't think it really has anything to do with religion at all. |
Nightwish – Storytime Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I believe the actual lyrics are as follows: It was the night before, When all through the world, No words, no dreams Then one day, A writer by a fire Imagined all of Gaia Took a journey into a childless heart... A painter on the shore Imagined all the world Within the snowflake on his palm A dream of poetry, I'll tell is over Cutting in, Falling back in to the stars... I am the voice of never, never land, The innocence of dreams from every man, I am the empty grave of Peter Pan, A soaring kite against the blue, blue sky, Every chimney, every moonlit sight I am the story that will read you real, Every memory that you hold dear I am the journey, I am the destination, I am the whole mad tale That grieves you Away to taste the night, Free and loose we fly! Follow the madness, How do you know what's real? Imaginarium, a dream emporium! Caress the tales And they will read you real A storyteller's game, Inside he flicks the gate The calling heart Is a limitless chest of tales... I am the voice of never, never land, The innocence of dreams from every man, I am the empty grave of Peter Pan, A soaring kite against the blue, blue sky, Every chimney, every moonlit sight I am the story that will read you real, Every memory that you hold dear I am the voice of never, never land, The innocence of dreams from every man, Searching heavens for another earth... |
Nightwish – Meadows of Heaven Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Could someone please explain what they think Tuomas means by "winterheart" and "first star of fall"? Those are the only parts of the song that I don't understand. |
