U2 – Sleep Like a Baby Tonight Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This was the only song on the new album that I immediately fell in love with. The rest grew on me gradually, and I now have several new favorites, but this is still tops. The lyrics and music are exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for with the entire album. Interesting to note that, while Danger Mouse worked on several tracks that made the cut, this is apparently the only one that he alone worked on. Makes me wonder what the other songs would have sounded like with only his direction. |
Sixpence None the Richer – Dizzy Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Just a beautiful, forlorn tune. One of my favorites. |
Rush – BU2B Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I don't hate sleevemeister, I hate the terrible comment. It's one thing to disagree with someone (which I wouldn't have a problem with), but to just outright state that you know someone is going to hell when you very well don't is indeed assuming superiority. I love Neil's lyrics, even if I don't agree with every aspect of his personal philosophy. And to attack someone simply because they don't hold the same beliefs as you is downright childish. From The Accounts, I don't recall Jesus ever going up to non-believers and condemning them. He wanted them to follow, but He didn't say "You sickeningly ignorant fools, you are going to hell." In fact, I only recall Him condemning the religious fools who claimed to be believers while living lives that were mockeries of holiness. See, if sleevemeister's comment had read like a personal testimony of their own beliefs without attacking Neil, I would have left it alone (might even have rated it up). But as it stands, it's a sickening mockery of Christianity, and as a true believer, I believe such comments should not go unchallenged. |

Your assuming superiority is most annoying. |

SongMeanings isn't authorized to put "{instrumental)"? |
Genesis – Silent Sorrow In Empty Boats Lyrics | 12 years ago |
One of my all-time favorite instrumental tracks from a rock 'n roll band. I don't know if Brian Eno actually contributed anything to this track (as nobody seems to remember exactly what he did on this album), but it definitely sounds like the product of "Enossification." |
David Bowie – A New Career in a New Town Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This track is so hauntingly beautiful and uplifting, one of my favorite Bowie tunes. |
Pixies – Head On Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"I get an electrick SHOCK from you" should be "I get an electric CHARGE from you", and I count only four "Yeah"s, not five (wow, that sounds petty). |
Carole King – I Feel The Earth Move Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The lyrics here are to 'Pierre' by The Dresden Dolls. The correct lyrics are: "I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down I feel my heart start to trembling Whenever you're around Oh, baby, when I see your face Mellow as the month of May Oh, darling, I can't stand it When you look at me that way I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down I feel my heart start to trembling Whenever you're around Oh, darling, when you're near me And you tenderly call my name I know that my emotions Are something that I just can't tame I've just got to have you, baby I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down, tumbling down I just lose control Down to my very soul I get hot and cold all over I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down Tumbling down Tumbling down Tumbling down Tumbling down" |
Bryan Ferry – Don't Stop The Dance Lyrics | 12 years ago |
These lyrics are for 'The Dean And I' by 10cc. The lyric for 'Don't Stop The Dance' are as follows: "Mama says truth is all that matters Lying and deceiving is a sin Drifting through a world torn and tattered Every thought I have don't mean a thing Don't stop, don't stop the dance Don't, more music, stop the dance Mama says love is all that matters Beauty should be deeper than the skin Living for the moment, lips and lashes Will I ever find my way again Don't stop, don't stop the dance Mama says love is stormy weather Don't know why there's no sun in the sky Footsteps in the dark come together Gotta keep on moving or I'll die Don't stop, don't stop the dance Don't, more music, don't stop the dance Don't stop, don't stop the dance Don't, more music, don't stop the dance Don't stop, don't stop the dance" This is also the second song I've found by a former Roxy Music member whose lyrics have been replaced by those of a song by band with a number in their name (Gang of Four and now 10cc). Odd. |
Brian Eno – Sky Saw Lyrics | 12 years ago |
As of the posting of this comment, the lyrics posted here are for 'Anthrax' by Gang of Four. The actual lyrics to this song are: "All the clouds turn to words All the words float in sequence No one knows what they mean Everyone just ignores them" |
The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Over At The Frankenstein Place Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I always thought he said "Flow, Morpheus, slow...." (as in Morpheus, god of dreams), but the way "morphia" and "slow" go together, I guess I misheard it. |
Jackson Browne – Fountain Of Sorrow Lyrics | 12 years ago |
