Electric Light Orchestra – Telephone Line Lyrics
| 13 years ago

This is about God's frustration in trying to reach us. He sees us struggling but we still ignore his call. Go ahead. Try to ignore that phone. He's content to "let it ring for ever more" BUT if you'd "pick up that telephone" he'd tell us everything. |

The Doors – Shaman's Blues Lyrics

The Shaman is Jesus and he wants you to remember "we were together". And whatever you give him, he "gives it all right back to you" "he knows your moods and your mind"
In the last verse you mock him on the cross "he's sweatin, look at him" He loves you and suffered earthly hell to demonstrate it. Great song and don't forget Jimbo spent time in seminary school. Most of his great songs were sermons. "The whole world's a savior who could ever ask for more" Most see a hot looking dude with earthly appeal. That's the candy coated outside Jesus gives you. When you get past that, if you have the balls, and are still "with it" you find the peanut and a prize. Most spit the thing out when the candy coating dissolves. |

Morrissey – The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get Lyrics
| 13 years ago

This is about the greatest stalker of all time. Jesus Christ. The fact is the more you ignore him the closer he comes. Beautiful song. Jesus will ring your phone, beat on your doors and invade your thoughts till you finally come back home with him. He loves you and you wandered off and got lost. Now he won't quit on you till you turn your ass back around and head home. Morrissey himself probably had no idea what the hell this song was about. Maybe HE thought it was about this Joyce character, whoever he was...who gives a fuck? Its all earthly nonsense. Wayward children hear this song and it reminds them that their sheppard is coming for them to lead them back home, like it or not. |
