ODESZA – Say My Name Lyrics 8 years ago
The key to the song for me is the"scarlet letter." This implies that someone has committed adultery. It seems like the singer is the girl in the corner and the guy is pretending he has nothing to hide, but she's begging him to grow a pair and reminding him that she knows the real him.

That's what I got out of it.

Mark Ronson – Bang Bang Bang Lyrics 11 years ago
I think the song is about people who are shooting as a result of injustice (real or perceived.)

People were told they should count to calm themselves down in times of extreme anger (un, deux, trois). They say 'no one ever does it like that anymore. Bang, bang, bang. When feathers fly you deny everything.' People are not counting, THEY'RE SHOOTING!

I think the song points to the fact that with increasing violence, dissatisfaction, and increasing awareness, there will be no way to shield oneself 'with molting feathers."

Molting is a process in which birds shed their feathers. It must be warm when this process takes place because feathers protect birds from the cold ('It's a cruel, cruel world'). Again, MNDR has said she was plucking the feathers. This means the birds were not ready and they will suffer when the truth is revealed (plucked feathers/lies shed=birds exposed to the cold/truth revealed) The "birds" will not voluntarily shed their insulating feathers. So, she will pluck them to expose the truth. Their feathers can be considered lies in this case.

The fact of the matter is that every time one of these incidents take place, the perpetrator is identified as the problem, when they are really a sensitive and volatile symptom of a greater issue.

Alicia Keys – One Thing Lyrics 11 years ago
*Has* your decision changed?

I believe the song is about a man who has abandonment issues because of his father's death. She understands, but wished he would realize that the love they shared was the key to everything. The "one thing" is love. In the middle of the song, she has accepted that love wasn't enough and that he won't come back. By the end of the song, he has come back after realizing what he left behind. Notice she says love was "chasing" and "saving" them. The key to understanding the song is to how she describes the "one thing." 1. chasing/saving 2. won't stay/ain't saving 3. chasing/saving. Also, in the end, she's speaking to him (as he is in her presence). She wants him to hold and comfort her. *Hopefully she'll make a video. I think it would be beautiful.*

The line "Play both sides of the field, see I know 'caine" (as in coccaine), means he has dealt drugs and used drugs ("hydroplane"~HYDRO=WEED/MARIJUANA), because the next line says "I keep 'EM high like Kurt Cobain."

So, Malice is basically saying, as Jay-Z has said many times, being a drug dealer can be just as addictive as being a drug addict because they do it all for the "lime(light)." While he does smoke weed, he is not addicted to it. However, he does have an addiction to making money and being in the "lime"light.
