Gorillaz – New Genious (Brother) Lyrics 13 years ago
Whenever I listen to this song, I always have thought it was about how the people who warn you not to do things are often doing them themselves.

'Brother, sister too
Do what you must do
Don't trust people you meet
Yeah, yeah
They might promise you that the river ain't deep'

The 'river' being the danger that comes with whatever you are warning the person or people not to do. However, when the last part comes...

'Brother, sister too
Do what you wanna do'

You're telling them they should go ahead and do whatever they want because you don't care anymore after warning them too many times, yet they still want to do it.

'The river and people seem to die'

When the people who are all involved in the activity die, the activity they were doing dies with them only for a moment before it happens again with someone else.

'The river ain't deep, the river ain't deep, the river ain't deep..."

The person who was warning others not to do that 'something' have now become one of the people who do it as well, and now begin convincing others that it is alright too, even when it is not, but there is no longer any reason to keep warning.

Gorillaz – Rockit Lyrics 13 years ago
I've thought of it as being about how celebrities don't try hard to put out music that has any actual meaning to it anymore. The lines that go with the 'blah blah blahs' are about how all music during the time is just about the same exact stuff, and that eventually the meanings fade and it just sounds like every other type of music that's around.

I've always heard the other part as being:

I didn't mean to do it
It loved me in my head
I tried to a charmer
But got a bit hopeless instead
The world is very sexy
It's part of my collapse

This part is about how the celebrities try to get out of things, like when you hear about a celebrity having an alcohol addiction or a drug problem. They claim they 'didn't mean to do it, it loved me in my head'. They 'try to be a charmer' so that people will believe them and say that they shouldn't be punished, but they just get 'a bit hopeless instead' because eventually people will realize that they aren't going to stop doing it anyway, so there's no point in letting them go free.

'The world is very sexy' is probably about how sexual things are a main part of music nowadays, and as such, 'it's part of my collapse', the celebrity becomes one that people think is a sick or disgusting kind and they forget about them eventually.

The 'rock it, rock it' part at the end symbolizes how, despite the scandals and issues of the celebrity world, there are still fans who love their music and are willing to 'rock it' when listening to them sing and perform.
